I am a licensed mental health counselor in Florida as well as a certified EMDRIA-approved EMDR therapist. I specialize in working with people who feel overworked for other people in their life while feeling underappreciated and left alone, feeling confused about who they are and what they can do to gain a sense of control back in their life. I became a psychotherapist because I've experienced the need to have someone who can show me what I could not see because they have a genuine interest in my well-being and potential. Together we will find the root of your behavioral/emotional difficulties from scientific, psychological, and spiritual perspectives. You will uncover resources that can only be found in you to overcome the difficulties. Eventually, striving for wholeness will be the life journey that you will gladly take on outside of a therapy session.
You will have a safe space where your thoughts and feelings are heard while increasing insights into your mental difficulties, and experiencing relief from prolonged emotional suffering. Above all, I want you to have a transformative experience in finding your authentic self. I will meet where you are, and we will start a journey of healing and growth together.
As a certified EMDR therapist, EMDR is my primary modality in the treatment. My approach to using EMDR revolves around believing in a person's innate ability to self-heal given proper guidance, insights, tools, and unwavering support. EMDR is going to help you retrain your body's response to your triggers, increase insights about your difficulties and what you need to move forward. You will take an active role in reprocessing unprocessed memories that negatively affect your present life. I am going to be an ever-present-ears to hear you out, guiding you through the process of getting unstuck from your past adaptively while accompanying you as a witness and support on your healing journey.
EMDR is designed to desensitize a person from unwanted upsetting/distressing memory or emotional/physical reactions and change maladaptive beliefs to adaptive beliefs while engaging in the introspection.
Jungian approach allows a person tap into the deeper sense of self where a person can gain more insight on one's emotional/behavioral difficulties and find inner resources.
ACT is taking a counterintuitive approach in dealing with unwanted/distressing internal experiences including emotions, thoughts, bodily sensations, and memories by asking a person to consider accepting them to be processed and assimilated into you adaptively instead of running away from them all the time.
Polyvagal theory will increase knowledge on our biological makeup in emotion regulation and would allow a person to be more equipped in retraining body's response in emotion regulation.
