Therapy For POC provides mental health support for Black, Indigenous People Of Color. All communities of color are struggling with mental health issues due to everyday life and the stress of living in this world. Folks of color would benefit most from services provided by therapists of color, who have similar lived experiences. Therapy For POC is a social justice oriented company committed to counteracting the effect of systems of oppression. Therapy For POC was founded by Vanessa Cantu, a first gen Mexican-American woman of color, who has struggled in her own life and felt the true healing success of her own struggle reflected back to her. Vanessa enjoys close time with family and friends, travel, nature, hiking, gardening, psychedelics for healing, and her dog.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Getting acquainted with each other and sharing about your life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My niche is working with people of color. I am a part of a community and honor the struggle of the various communities that have experienced oppression in their bloodlines. Though I enjoy working with and welcome all people, I focus on folks of color in order to address the disparity and lack of diversity in our current system.
