Hello, I am a licensed Clinical Social worker and graduated with my master's degree in 2016 from Youngstown State University. I have experience in working with both children and adults. I have been practicing for over 9 years, working with individuals to address and improve their mental wellness. My passion is building a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients to begin working towards treatment goals that will develop into lasting change. I work with clients utilizing a blend of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, supportive and solution focused therapy, to help individuals along their journey.
In our first session we will spend some time gathering a detailed history of events and factors that lead you to where you are today. We will explore your biological, social and psychological backgrounds and identify any areas that may need to be addressed. Through doing this, it will help me gain an understating of specific challenges you may be facing, to begin to develop a tailored plan to focus our future sessions.
Having worked with a wide variety of individuals, as well as the challenges they face, I've developed many skills to assist with both identifying the root cause of your challenges and to create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.
I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past 9 years. This approach helps to organize thoughts, challenge negative beliefs, helps to address anxiety and many other symptoms you may be experiencing. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help to improve your mental wellbeing.
I have been using DBT in my practice for the last 2 years. This approach helps to manage distress through the use of skills training. This approach is often used to help those with Bipolar, BPD, Depression, Self-Harming Behaviors, and PTSD. This approach is designed for people who experience emotions intensely and have difficulty managing them. Together, we will learn how to accept our feelings, understand them, and manage them in a healthy way.
