What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In therapy sessions with me, you can expect a compassionate and supportive environment where we will explore your concerns, set goals, and utilize various therapeutic techniques tailored to your needs. My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I employ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a psychotherapeutic approach to help clients recognize and address negative or disruptive thinking patterns, emotional responses, and behaviors. Through this method, we collaboratively work towards replacing these patterns with healthier alternatives. This therapeutic approach is particularly effective for individuals dealing with Depression, Anxiety disorders, Mood disorders, Eating disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Personality disorders, and Sexual disorders.

Trauma Informed Care

I implement Trauma-Focused Therapy techniques for individuals struggling with symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder stemming from one or more traumatic incidents in their lives. Together, we will explore the impact of the trauma on your functioning, process personal traumatic experiences, and develop essential coping skills. This therapeutic approach aims to manage intrusive memories, address avoidance patterns, mitigate negative changes in thinking and mood, and navigate changes in physical and emotional reactions. This approach is particularly beneficial for individuals who have faced trauma such as abuse, neglect, bullying, acts of violence, life-threatening illness/injury, living through a natural disaster, and other traumatic incidents.

Grief Therapy

Grief Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that I utilize to assist clients who have experienced a loss such as the passing of a loved one/pet or relocation. Together we will process the impact of the loss and work toward developing coping skills and strategies to help you cope with your grief.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-Centered Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that I utilize to guide clients in taking control of their own healing and fostering positive growth. In this therapeutic framework, my role is not to prescribe what you should do or how to feel; rather, I create a supportive space for you to embark on a journey of self-discovery. Through this process, you identify your own needs and solutions. This client-centered approach proves particularly beneficial for individuals aiming to enhance self-confidence, strengthen their sense of identity, foster successful interpersonal relationships, and develop greater trust in their own decision-making.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

As a second-generation immigrant, I recognize the importance of one’s cultural background and belief system to their overall identity. I understand that one’s cultural background may impact their perception of mental health and their approach to receiving mental health treatment. I strive to accommodate and respect differences in the opinions, values, and attitudes of various cultures and different types of people in order to provide the most effective treatment.
