Hey there! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Virginia. I have worked for the past 4 years specializing in substance use. I am dedicated to providing compassionate, trauma-informed care to best promote a safe space for healing and personal growth. Using EMDR, CBT, and DBT, I work with you to create a personalized treatment plan that fosters healing, empowerment, and lasting recovery . My goal is to create a welcoming, safe environment where you can explore and heal from trauma, anxiety, life stress, relationship challenges, and substance use.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll focus on collaboration and getting to know each other in a comfortable, open setting. It’s a chance for us to discuss your goals, concerns, and what brings you to therapy. We’ll take time for a meet and greet, where you can share your story, and I’ll ask questions to understand your background and unique needs. Together, we’ll start building a treatment plan tailored to your personal goals and challenges. This initial session is meant to create a space for open discussion, where you can ask questions, and we can set the foundation for our work together

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a counselor, my greatest strengths lie in my compassion, motivation, and open-mindedness. I strive to create a welcoming and nonjudgmental environment where every client feels heard and valued. My goal is to offer a safe space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and challenges without fear of judgment. I am deeply committed to supporting my clients on their journey toward healing and personal growth, providing encouragement and empathy every step of the way.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use person-centered counseling as the foundation for promoting personalized growth and self-awareness.By offering a space of unconditional positive regard, I encourage each individual to explore their emotions and experiences without fear of judgment, allowing them to build a deeper sense of self-worth and trust.

EMDR

In my practice, I offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, a powerful approach designed to help individuals process and heal from past trauma and distressing experiences. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, to help rewire how memories and emotions are stored in the brain. This process allows clients to reframe negative beliefs, reduce emotional distress, and ultimately find greater peace and resilience.

Trauma Informed Care

prioritize creating a safe, trusting environment where clients feel respected and empowered. By recognizing the signs of trauma and understanding its effect on emotional, mental, and physical well-being, I tailor my approach to meet each individual’s needs, always fostering a sense of choice, control, and compassion. This approach helps clients feel supported as they process past experiences and work toward healing, without fear of re-traumatization.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT combines mindfulness, acceptance, and change-based techniques, empowering clients to find balance and resilience in their daily lives. Through structured sessions, I guide clients in learning practical skills in areas like emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. DBT is especially beneficial for those navigating challenges like emotional instability, self-harm, and relationship struggles, helping them create lasting positive change.
