Hi there! I’m Jeff. Do you feel alone, stuck, or unable to reach your potential in your relationships, career, or overall health? Is it hard to accept yourself or others? Are you struggling to communicate with the people you care most about? YOU deserve support!! I help people through life changes, anxiety, depression, grief, and addictions. We can explore what works and does not work in your life and find useful next steps together. With evidence-based approaches, we can empower you to take action on what matters most to you. I applaud you for your courage to explore therapy and support options. In safe and compassionate conversations, we will learn together what can increase your overall satisfaction and sense of connection in life. Let’s start that journey together! NOTE: At this time, I am not working with minor clients. SCHEDULING NOTE: While some assistance may be offered during sessions, clients are responsible to schedule follow-up sessions to ensure a desired and treatment-recommended frequency. Unless otherwise agreed upon, if no session occurs for 3 weeks, the therapeutic relationship may be considered terminated. Thanks for assisting in keeping services and progress workable!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will introduce ourselves and get to know each other. We will review many parts of the intake form to ensure we have the same understanding of your goals and what brought you to seek treatment. We will review practice policies, next steps with the intake process, and I will be happy to answer any questions. I aim to offer reassurance that I will support you through your therapy process.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I provide a safe, compassionate, and empowering listening environment. In addition to experience supporting individuals through various addiction recovery programs and the 12-step recovery process, a passion of mine is to help clients find music or other expressive art that allows them to process their feelings and experiences. This allows you to communicate in a way that may not be possible with traditional talk therapy. I have worked with adolescents, young adults, parents, caregivers, persons with disabilities, employees, and organization leaders. I believe everyone is an individual, often identifying with multiple cultural groups, and it will be important for me to get to know you as the unique person you are.

My treatment methods

Integrative

From a foundation of Humanistic/Existential philosophy, we use evidence-based approaches, authenticity, client-centered values to achieve increased insight, acceptance and corrective emotional experiences.

Daialectical Behavior (DBT)

Psychoeducation of Core-Mindfulness skills (cultivating a sense of Connection within and in the moment), we teach Emotional Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness Skills.

Strength-Based

I believe in cultivating a growth-mindset and starting where clients are at and what they are already utilizing in their current life.

Polyvagal Therapy

Understanding the biological basis of threat response, social connection, and nervous system regulation skills.

Gottman method

While I don't offer couples therapy, 7 principles of healthy relationships are invaluable and great psychoeducation, Gottman offers excellent conceptual framework for attaining collaborative solutions, there is effective integration of various therapy models, and offers pragmatic tools to improve all relationships, not just marriages.
