Hi, I’m a Licensed Counselor (LPC) based in Georgia. I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University and I have been practicing for 4 years. I help clients to understand that “It is Okay not to be Okay.” I believe in meeting my clients where they are and providing them with the coping skills they need.
The first session with my clients, I let them know that there in a no judgement zone and they are free to express how they feel in anyway that they feel comfortable.
I believe my greatest strength as a provider is being able to meet my clients where they are and to make them feel comfortable by establishing a trusting rapport.
I utilize CBT because it allows my clients to talk about how they are feeling and it helps me to provide coping skills that matches their needs.
When counseling couples I always remind them that I am the neutral person in the room and that a relationship takes two people to make it work. I also remind them that communication is key in any relationship.
I utilize emotion focused therapy for my clients who are dealing with the loss of a loved one, or someone who is dealing with conflict or hurt feelings and teach them how to address the person if given the opportunity.
