HI. I have a Doctorate in Behavioral Health Management and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, both were obtained from Arizona State University. I have been practicing for about 5 years and have been in outpatient settings, prison setting, VA facilities, and am currently in a residential facility. I have also managed a private practice for over 4 years, helping people with a wide variety of concerns.
During our first session, I will introduce myself and tell you my experiences, education and training. I will also share my thoughts on what therapy looks like and let you know that you are the expert in your life. I will explain my role and how you can depend on me to help you.
My strengths include listening attentively and being open to your experiences and perceptions. I don't see people as having the "wrong answer" or being "broken" in any way. I see people as having developed protective measures from their past that have proven to be successful.
I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Treatment, Internal Family Systems Theory, Mindfulness, Grounding and a lot of Psychoeducation. I believe one method of treatment does not fully support persons seeking help and by having a variety of tools at my disposal I can better help the person to overcome barriers.
