I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and am currently located in the Chicagoland area. I received my Masters of Social Work from Howard University in Washington, DC and have been working in the field for 10 years. I have worked with a multitude of different client populations to include: youth, adults, military, unhoused, chronic illnesses, addictions and an array of different mental health diagnoses. My goal in working with my clients is to help them find joy in their lives however that looks for them.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In my first sessions with clients I like to do introductions and go over exceptions of us as therapist and client. I also like to review your initial assessments to get a better picture of what to work on during our time together. This helps me assist you in creating your goals and tailoring a plan and approach to help you reach them.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a therapist is being able to show up as my authentic self to create a genuine space where my clients feel safe.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT aims to help you identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and to learn practical self-help strategies. Throughout my career I've worked with clients in a range of settings, from anxiety to addition, to help them change their thinking patterns to better help reach their set goals.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

In such a fast paced world it can sometimes feel overwhelming on what to prioritize and where to start. In mindfulness therapy i work with clients to feel more grounded and be more present in their current situation. The goal being to help understand the thoughts in your mind and better process them.

Trauma Informed Care

In working with clients with a trauma informed approach I am shifting the perspective of what is wrong with you, to what happened to you. Acknowledging that we are all a melting pot of experiences and perspective that were not always our own or of our doing. This approach recognizes our lives are informed by symptoms of those experiences even if we don't initially realize it.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

When working with clients through a solution focused method we are focused on a specific problem and tools to resolve it. This approach is less informed by the clients history and more centered on how to move going forward.
