(ANNOUNCEMENT: I currently have a few limited openings for new clients. If you’re interested in working together, I encourage you to reach out soon before spots fill up!) Welcome! You’re not alone anymore. Do you find yourself stuck in your head or feeling overwhelmed? Moody, anxious, or even depressed at times? Unsure how to feel better or how to fix things? Did you know that, with the right guidance, you can free yourself from the past and start feeling better? I can help you lift the emotional weight, enabling you to feel lighter and free from the burden of past experiences. Your unconscious mind holds the key to your individual health and healing. Let me help you tap into that power and learn to quiet the chaos. I’m here to help. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of experience practicing the art of social work in various settings and with a diverse range of clients. My goal is to help you navigate your journey of self-discovery and change. Throughout my career, I’ve been practicing psychotherapy and working with a wide array of issues and challenges. I specialize in understanding and treating mood disorders such as bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression, as well as addressing concerns related to self-esteem, self-worth, and relationship issues. Additionally, I have over 20 years of experience in the addiction field. Clinically, I’m an object relations-oriented psychodynamic psychotherapist. I consider myself somewhat of an “old-school” therapist, bringing depth and insight to my work to support meaningful change.
In our first session together, we’ll begin with brief introductions and then dive into the specific challenges you’re facing. This will help me tailor a plan for us to work through in our future sessions.
Through our therapeutic alliance, your ability to gain insight and awareness will blossom, creating the foundation for meaningful change.
I am a psychodynamic, process-oriented psychotherapist. My work is generally not a short-term process. The journey of self-awareness is itself the catalyst for change, and we achieve that awareness by simply talking about your life. I often use the technique of free association to help navigate your thoughts and feelings, allowing us to explore where they lead—a unique guide to self-discovery during our sessions. My approach is rooted in core principles: it’s client-centered, meaning we focus on your issues and where you are today. Additionally, we emphasize the process—what it feels like to engage in therapy and develop a therapeutic relationship with the psychotherapist. I’m not a brief, solutions-focused therapist or a cognitive behavioral therapist. And as for motivational interviewing or mindfulness? Honestly, I have no idea what those even are. (LOL!)
