Hello, I'm Aleta, Have you found yourself overwhelmed with life? Is it all becoming too much? Are you weighed down by the cares of life? Are you feeling lost, hopeless, anxious or frustrated due to stressors in your home, work/school or personal relationships? I am willing to collaborate with you to explore, identify, and assist with the development of skills to help you navigate the difficulties you are currently encountering. I provide a sacred space for you to gain insight into yourself, your relationships with others and/or the circumstances of your current life situation. I will provide unique opportunities for support, resources, and building skills that may not be available outside of the therapeutic environment. This is done to assist you with reaching the goals you identify as being necessary to improve and maintain a quality of life. Life can be challenging. Seeking therapy takes courage and can be scary however the experience can be rewarding as well as beneficial. We can work together in therapy to address your concerns and determine effective strategies to help you manage your life in ways that increase your level of overall productivity and functioning.
We will work together to explore the factors leading to you seeking therapy as well as the things that may be contributing. Moving forward we will collaborate on the necessary steps to be taken to accomplish your desired goals. Future sessions will be focused on progress with goals, factors that may be interfering with progress, working through your thoughts and feelings, developing skills for coping and the usefulness of these skills in assisting you with navigating your identified challenges. After some time, you will be able to identify effective ways to address your challenges and practice skills. This will help increase your overall level of productivity and functioning at work, home/school as well as in your relationship with yourself/others.
I employ an integrative approach to therapy that is tailored to the specific needs of the person. I use techniques from various evidence-based practices. The techniques that I employ are associated with CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and Solution-Focused. I also utilize assessment scales, questionnaires, worksheets and homework throughout the process of therapy.
My empathetic approach enables me to connect with those who are struggling with challenges and looking for support/relief.
