Hello, My name Chris, and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. If you are in search of a warm and genuine environment to explore the issues preventing you from living the life you want, you have come to the right place. My main priority is that you feel heard and safe, without any fear of judgment. I know from my years of experience how difficult it can be to take these first steps toward wholeness and healing. We all need a little support sometimes, that is what led you here. I work in a collaborative manner and will never assume to be the expert in your life. Together, we will create a plan to get you living the life you are meant to live. I look forward to speaking with you soon!
In our first session we'll start with brief introductions, assessment of symptoms and gathering history in regards of family history, past history in regard to previous counseling, medication usage, and current life struggles. I make sure to always use a very warming and soft tone to make it more of a conversational intake session rather than an interrogation.
Trauma therapy is my biggest strength and greatest passion! I often use evidence-based techniques such as EMDR Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy, and TF-CBT Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to treat folks struggling with trauma/PTSD. I often see quick results with clients who have had a lifelong struggle with intrusive memories, triggers, hyper-vigilance, nightmares, anxiety/depression, negative views of self and/or body tension that may stem from childhood trauma, sexual/physical/emotional abuse, battlefield/military deployment, or accidents/injury.
I often use EMDR to treat client's struggling with symptoms from trauma, PTSD, grief & bereavement, phobias, and anxiety disorders. Such symptoms could be triggers, nightmares, avoidance, hyper vigilance, crying spells, over worrying or tension in body.
I often use CBT with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, bipolar, phobias, trauma/PTSD, low confidence. CBT helps clients find better adaptive ways of thinking that leads to decreased anxiety/stress, and decreased tension in body.
