I don't believe in a 'cookie cutter' approach to treatment as everyone is unique. I believe in meeting a person where they are at in life. I have been a practicing clinician for over 10 years and have worked in a variety of settings. This has allowed me to develop a unique skillset and insight into a variety of different issues an individual is experiencing.
After an initial intake, sessions will focus on your unique goals for treatment. Whether this is improving relationships, communication, developing coping skills or just having an unbiased person to talk to.
I use social cognitive theory and a cognitive behavioral approach to treatment. I integrate various interventions depending on an individual's unique needs. Some of these include strengths-based treatment, solution-focused, motivational interviewing, dialectic behavior therapy and mindfulness.
I work with my Clients to help them identify and change the thought patterns leading to the development of maladaptive coping skills. I have experience working in substance abuse treatment as well as anger management, domestic violence and sex offender treatments.
