Hello, I'm a LCSW in the great state of North Carolina with 4 years of professional work experience working as a Psychotherapist on an assertive community treatment team. I have experience in helping clients with anxiety, depression, anger management, motivation, self-esteem, confidence, and developing self-care and coping skills. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. During the initial intake it is important to build a therapeutic relationship while obtaining a clear understanding regarding the expectations of the person being served. Once the intake has been completed it is important to develop a personal center plan in-order to work toward accomplishing short-term and long-term goals tailored to meet the unique and specific needs of the individual being served. Over the past 4 years I have been using evidenced based interventions CBT, ACT, and Psych Rehab to assist the people I serve with reducing the severity of their ongoing symptoms and problems. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I look forward to working with anyone who is looking to take that first step.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session I like to build rapport with my client's while completing a biopsychosocial assessment. Once we both understand what the presenting problem or symptoms maybe, we can then create a tailored plan to address the problem or symptoms we have identified to target.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with adults with a serious mental illness for the past 4 years in my role as a psychotherapist I feel comfortable meeting individuals where they are regarding their motivation to change. I like to use a client centered approach focusing on a person's strengths and autonomy.

My treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is a person-centered approach that is an evidenced based intervention that has been effective for people who have mixed feelings about changing their behavior while giving the person the autonomy to take the actions necessary to change their behavior.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT to treat anxiety for the past 4 years and have had success with helping clients learn to manage their ongoing symptoms independently by identifying triggers and challenging negative thoughts.
