I am a therapist who specializes in interventions such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Ego State therapy. My approach is person centered, in order to meet you where you feel safe, and comfortable. I believe in compassionate, professional, and personable services so that clients are able to be as successful as possible. Presenting concerns that I currently treat include history of trauma, including attachment trauma, sexual assault, witnessing domestic or community violence, and trauma of early childhood. I also treat clients who are experiencing guilt, shame, recurring negative cognitions, anxiety, and depression. My history includes working in foster care and adoption, juvenile services, corrections, substance use, equine therapy, and outpatient therapy for adults & adolescents.
Clients can expect that the first session will establish goals and provide education regarding interventions that I can offer. A traditional intake can be taxing, and difficult for clients to answer so many personal questions, clients will be given complete autonomy over the pace at which they share vulnerable details about their lives.
My biggest strengths as a provider include by ability to create a trusting and caring relationship in which clients can feel safe. Safety is my biggest priority for clients to begin to do the hard work of healing from trauma. I hold myself to high standerds of integrity, confidentiality, and non-judgmental care.
Perhaps you are a self-aware person who just can't understand why it's so difficult to move on from certain things, or you're having reactions to things that just don't feel like the real you! I can help go to the heart of these issues to find what you need to still process or heal from. I treat trauma, including attachment trauma, sexual assault, witnessing domestic or community violence, and trauma of early childhood. I also treat clients who are experiencing guilt, shame, recurring negative cognitions, anxiety, and depression.
I have been EMDR trained since 2020, and believe it is an effective way to approach trauma in a more holistic way than traditional talk therapy. Within this evidence-based practice I also utilize parts work to treat attachment trauma.
