I hold licenses as a clinical social worker and a clinical addiction counselor. My educational background includes a BA in Psychology from Purdue University, obtained in 2003, and a Master's in Social Work from Indiana University, completed in 2006. Since 2006, my professional journey has encompassed 4 years in private practice, 12 years addressing the needs of DCS/probation/court-ordered clients, 7 years in a jail setting (including 6 years as a clinical supervisor), and a role as a clinical director at an addiction recovery center. My experience spans working with groups, couples, and individuals grappling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, suicidal thoughts, crisis situations, gender issues, adjustment disorder, parenting challenges, stress, self-esteem, codependency, relationship difficulties, and more. My particular area of passion lies in aiding those struggling with addiction, a field in which I have nearly two decades of experience.
The first session is focused on getting acquainted and gathering comprehensive information. Although intake forms provide some understanding, often there are more questions that arise. If needed, you will be provided with a variety of tools and tasks to equip you for the following sessions.
I tailor treatment to the individual, which may include one, or many, different modalities.
I won't set goals for you until I'm certain you can reach them, and you won't be alone in this journey. As a compassionate and caring individual, I am extremely resourceful and can provide you with the tools necessary to live a healthy and fulfilling life. I will certainly encourage you to become the best version of yourself! However, I don't enable dependency. My method is focused on ensuring the best results for you, telling you what you need to know and do, rather than what you want to hear. I aim to optimize your time, understanding its value.
