As a therapist, I take an integrative and compassionate approach, helping clients navigate life's challenges by developing healthy coping skills. While we can't prevent stressful situations, we can prepare for them by understanding our emotional responses and building resilience. I work with individuals to explore the deeper roots of their struggles, whether it's anxiety, ADHD, or other emotional difficulties, and help them break free from avoidance behaviors that may hold them back from a fulfilling life. My goal is to help clients embrace their unique strengths, manage limitations, and create a safe, non-judgmental space where they can grow, make sense of their thoughts and emotions, and become the best version of themselves.
In your first session with me, you can expect a welcoming and non-judgmental space where we begin by exploring what brought you to therapy. We'll discuss your current challenges, your goals for therapy, and any concerns or questions you may have about the process. I’ll take the time to get to know you—your history, your experiences, and your unique perspective—so that we can start building a trusting therapeutic relationship. This session is about creating a comfortable environment where you feel safe to share, and it's also an opportunity for us to clarify how we can work together to address your needs. By the end of the session, we’ll have a clearer understanding of the direction of our work and some initial steps to move forward.
My greatest strength as a provider is my ability to walk with you through even the scariest, most difficult parts of your mind that you may be afraid to face. Together, we can explore these places with compassion and understanding. I’m committed to staying with you in your emotions, seeing the world from your point of view, and always being on your side—especially when you feel like you're against yourself. Additionally, my background in science gives me a deep understanding of the biological foundations of our emotions and behaviors, and I bring that knowledge into our work. I understand the laws of nature and the consequences we face when we go against them, allowing me to provide an informed, holistic approach to healing.
Do you ever find yourself reacting to situations in ways that feel unhelpful or even harmful, without understanding why? My psychoanalytic approach allows us to explore the deeper roots of these patterns. Together, we will carefully trace the path of your thoughts, associations, early memories, and dreams to uncover where and when these responses originally made sense and protected you from something in your past. Through this process of discovery, you’ll gain insight into the unconscious motivations behind your behavior. At that point, you can make a conscious decision: whether to continue with these patterns or to replace them with new, more adaptive responses that better serve you in the present.
CBT is a powerful tool that helps you develop the skills to identify and replace problematic thoughts—the one aspect of your mind you have control over. By working through these thought patterns, you can begin to shift your automatic responses. Within about two months, you'll start noticing changes in your automatic thoughts, followed by improvements in your mood, and ultimately in your overall life.
Mindfulness-based therapy is a powerful approach that helps you become more aware of your thoughts, feelings, and body. Through this process, you will develop the ability to observe yourself in the present moment, without judgment. This practice allows you to stay grounded in the "here and now" instead of getting caught up in the past or worrying about the future. Over time, you'll learn to respond to life's challenges with greater calm and clarity.
Motivational interviewing is an empowering approach that helps you tap into your own inner motivation to make positive changes in your life. By exploring your thoughts, feelings, and values, you’ll gain clarity on what truly matters to you. This process strengthens your ability to make decisions that align with your goals, helping you move forward with confidence and purpose. Rather than feeling pushed or pressured, you’ll find the internal drive to create lasting change on your own terms.
