I’m Naina Rana, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Peakworks Counseling Center. I specialize in helping individuals and couples navigate life transitions, emotional challenges, relationship dynamics, and ADHD. Drawing from a holistic West meets East approach, I create a compassionate, safe, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their struggles, embrace their strengths, and achieve meaningful growth. My goal is to empower you to find balance, clarity, and resilience as you move forward on your journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

At Peakworks Counseling Center, your first session is a warm and welcoming start to your therapeutic journey. We’ll begin by getting to know each other, discussing how therapy works, and ensuring your questions about confidentiality and session structure are answered. This is your space to share what brought you here—whether it’s a specific challenge, a desire for growth, or simply seeking support. You can share at your own pace, focusing on what feels comfortable and safe for you. Together, we’ll explore your goals, whether it’s finding immediate relief, setting long-term objectives, or gaining deeper self-understanding. I’ll introduce tools and approaches tailored to your needs, encouraging collaboration and open communication. By the end of the session, we’ll outline a plan for moving forward with actionable steps. My aim is for you to feel heard, supported, and empowered as we begin this journey toward growth and healing.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, I create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly seen and heard. Shaped by my experiences as a Nepalese-American, my culturally sensitive, West-meets-East approach blends evidence-based practices with holistic techniques, guiding clients toward healing and growth. I prioritize genuine connections, fostering trust and a strong therapeutic relationship. With deep empathy and active listening, I understand clients' unique challenges while using an analytical lens to uncover insights for meaningful change. By tailoring interventions to each client’s needs and strengths, I focus on empowerment—encouraging resilience, confidence, and clarity. Inclusivity and accessibility are at the heart of my practice, ensuring every client feels valued and supported on their journey.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I use CBT to help clients recognize patterns of negative thinking or behaviors that may be contributing to their distress. Together, we work to reframe these thoughts, challenge self-defeating beliefs, and develop healthier coping strategies. For example, I guide clients through techniques like thought tracking, behavioral activation, and mindfulness exercises to promote self-awareness and lasting change. CBT is a collaborative and goal-oriented process, and I tailor it to meet each client's unique needs, ensuring that the tools and techniques align with their strengths, values, and goals. Whether it's helping someone reduce anxiety, improve communication in relationships, or enhance emotional regulation, CBT offers practical solutions that empower clients to create meaningful change in their lives.

Gottman method

In my practice, I use the Gottman Method to help couples understand the dynamics of their relationship, identify negative patterns, and work together to build a stronger emotional bond. By teaching couples how to communicate more effectively, manage conflict constructively, and foster appreciation and respect, I guide them toward creating lasting, meaningful connections. The Gottman Method's use of structured interventions and measurable goals also allows for clear progress in therapy, which is empowering for clients. I integrate the principles of this method with my broader therapeutic approach, ensuring that each couple receives personalized, culturally sensitive support that aligns with their unique needs and values.
