I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois with specialized training in expressive arts therapy, ecotherapy and sexual abuse and assault. I practice from a strengths-based, solution-focused perspective and will help you develop the insight and skills you need to achieve your goals. Also, apologies in advance for the random cameo by Eclipse, my supportive therapy cat.
During your first session we will review your intake paperwork and I will provide time for you to ask questions. We will begin to identify goals and work toward a treatment plan.
I will suggest methods and interventions based on your goals and interests. I am most familiar with evidence-based techniques used to address anxiety, depression, life changes, grief and loss, adult children of alcoholics, and trauma. I regularly develop my skills through classes, workshops and reading. I draw from Ecotherapy, CBT, ACT, gratitude journaling, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, Gottman Method, and solution-focused techniques.
I have many years of life experience, professional experience and education. This allows me to have an extensive range of tools at my disposal to assist you in your journey through therapy. If one thing doesn't work, something else might. I want to meet you at the place where you feel most comfortable and help you to grow from there.
