My name is Ken Bennett and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I specialize in mood and anxiety disorders with an emphasis on Trauma and PTSD. I take a very non-judgmental approach while building on your strengths and the ability to implement good coping mechanisms to reach your treatment goals. I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most powerful interventions for positive change.
I believe that a successful therapy session helps clients feel that they are on a healing path and moving toward achieving their goals. They feel empowered and hopeful knowing that they are moving in the right direction. Positive expectations, a strong therapeutic relationship, and hope are the keys for clients to feel successful and motivated to continue on their journey.
Having been the mental health field for over 20 years, I have found that once we mitigate the drives for specific issues the symptomology typically dissipates. Given the therapeutic alliance, we can then mantain this progress as well as reaching your therapeutic goals for the long term.
I have over 20 years of professional experience helping clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, coping with grief and loss, & anger management. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process. My approach to therapy is very non-judgemental, empowering, and healing in nature. I truly believe the client is the true expert on themselves, but I would like to partner with them to figure out what we can do together to get them to where they need to be. I like to take a team approach as we get on this path of healing together. This way we can build a therapeutic relationship and keep each other accountable as we work to reach their treatment goals. This approach has been very successful, in that it empowers the client to participate in the therapeutic process with the therapist as a team, as well as process interventions that custom fit them as a person.
