Hi, I'm glad you are here. My name is Alicia and I am a bilingual Licensed Marriage Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor based in Southern California and working telehealth statewide.

I provide a supportive and non-judgmental space, where clients can work through various mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and life transitions.

First session

Our first session will more than likely be spent talking about what is bringing you to therapy, discussing expectations, and work together on building trust and rapport. Together, we will later discuss your therapeutic goals and craft out ways to accomplish them.

Strengths

My communicating style is calm, authentic, and approachable. I like to emphasize collaborative work and being comfortable enough to be transparent without fear of judgement. I pride myself on creating a space that is non-judgmental as well as safe. I also acknowledge how vulnerable it can be to approach therapy at times. As someone who has received therapy herself, I like to welcome each client with empathy and understanding.

Ideal clients

I work with young adults, mothers, individuals navigating retirement, and “elder daughters” who often carry significant responsibility for others. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck despite being highly capable, and are ready to better understand how past experiences shape their current patterns. I integrate EMDR to help process and resolve trauma and DBT skills to strengthen emotional regulation, boundaries, and coping in daily life. Together, we focus on helping you feel more grounded, in control, and connected to yourself as you move through life and build lasting resilience.

Treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in my practice, which focuses on mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness and distress tolerance. These skills can help clients improve their lives and relationships, build resiliency, and gain skills during their therapeutic journey. I work with clients to identify patterns that keep them stuck and teach tools to build balance, structure, and self-compassion in daily life. Over time, clients often report feeling more in control, more connected, and more hopeful.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use Rogerian or Person-centerd method in my practice by creating a supportive and non-judgmental environment in which clients feel safe, accepted, valued, and understood. I believe that healing happens through a genuine therapeutic relationship, where clients can explore their emotions, build self-awareness, and reconnect with their inner strengths. Over time, this supportive environment helps clients move toward greater self-acceptance, clarity, and emotional well-being.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help people handle life’s challenges in a healthier way. Instead of trying to get rid of difficult thoughts or feelings, ACT helps you learn how to accept them and focus on what truly matters to you. Together, we use simple exercises and tools like mindfulness and values-based goal setting to help you move forward, even when things feel tough. This approach works well for issues like anxiety, stress, depression, and big life changes.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain heal from distressing or traumatic experiences. Instead of focusing only on talking through the past, EMDR helps reduce the emotional intensity of painful memories so they no longer feel overwhelming. Many people find EMDR helpful for trauma, anxiety, and emotional triggers, leading to lasting relief and a greater sense of calm.

I am returning to therapy and Alicia was great at explaining what she specializes in as well as listening to my goals and reasons to restart therapy. I'm feeling hopeful of working together.
