So you survived a pandemic, losses and uncertainty? Resilience is within you. My name is Dr. Erica, I am a psychotherapist and professor in the Chicago and Northwest Indiana area. I believe that we all possess abilities within us that can help us overcome the most difficult of times. Let us work together to use that same resilience to overcome other life stressors, be it anxiety, depression or relationship problems. I provide virtual sessions that allow you to sit in the comfort of your home while we explore possibilities to relieving the stress or discomfort you are experiencing. Empathy, openness and being nonjudgmental are some things that I hold dear to my practice.

My greatest strengths as a provider are being present with a client, being multiculturally aware and having a sense of humor and humility.

If you are tired of struggling in silence and feel like enough is enough, reach out today and let us work together to find possible solutions to the problem.

First session

In our first session, clients can expect to learn more about the therapeutic process and outline what they are hoping to get from therapy. My goal is to ensure that clients feel heard and understood in a judgment free space.

Strengths

My greatest strengths as a provider are being present with a client, being multiculturally aware and having a sense of humor and humility.

Ideal clients

Adults, Transgender Clients, LGBTQIA While I have numerous years of experience in a multitude of areas such as trauma, self-esteem and women's issues, I specialize in areas such as grief, anxiety, depression, relationship and LGBTQIA+ issues. My greatest strengths involve having a multicultural awareness when working with clients. I typically work with immigrants, couples and adults. My ideal client is a client who comes into therapy with a level of openness around the therapeutic process.

Treatment methods

Integrative

My treatment methods are integrative. I believe that each person has a uniqueness about them that requires methods that are tailored to their needs. As such, I employ various modalities when working with clients which include the use of DBT, CBT, Existential and Solution-Focused methods to treatment.

Dr. K is incredibly intelligent and has a way of challenging me to truly look within myself and be open and honest about how I feel. At the same time, she knows how to bring humor into our conversations, which helps me feel comfortable enough to let my guard down, and express exactly what I’m feeling. She is incredibly empowering and encouraging, and I always feel supported while also being challenged to grow. I’m grateful to have her as my therapist. I truly feel that she creates a safe space.
