Hello! My name is Rachel Nguyen, LMHC. I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida and Vermont. I have 12 years of experience as a therapist. My specialties exist in treating individuals who have experienced or live with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, OCD, Autism, ADHD and/or Sensory processing disorder.

When working with neurodivergent adults-we work together on gaining insight on their disability through self reflection and reading materials-if this interests them.

I use CBT, DBT and solution focused therapies to best meet clients mental health needs. Research shows that these approaches work best for most mental health conditions. I also utilize behavioral therapy and help with making accommodations for individuals with Autism and or ADHD. I am also willing to help with work accommodations or FLMA/short term disability needs. I have 12 years of experience working in the mental health and behavioral health field. I have a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a second Masters degree in Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis. I have worked in inpatient, outpatient, school, home, crisis and private practice facilities. I have experience working with a large spectrum of people with various mental health and developmental conditions or disorders. I have experience working with children, adults, families and couples. Currently I work solely with adults (18 and over) and elderly individuals.

First session

For the first session clients can expect for me to listen intently with the goal of getting to know you and your needs, to see if "it's a good fit." The first session I have no expectations for clients. We are just seeing if it's a good therapeutic match :)

Strengths

I am compassionate, attentive and kind. I also offer my honest and educated advice when appropriate putting my clients mental health as priority. When working with a client on processing trauma my biggest strength is my willingness to empower clients to feel in control of their healing process with no pressure on the healing process. When working with neurodivergent adults-we work together on gaining insight on their disability through self reflection and reading materials-if this interests them. You are welcome to e-mail: rnguyen2021@outlook. com with any questions or feel free to schedule a session on my calendar. Sincerely, Rachel Nguyen, LMHC

Ideal clients

Clients that I most often work with are experiencing some degree of anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, struggling with Autism burnout, overwhelm, sensory challenges and/or ADHD.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use this approach to help my clients develop positive coping skills, positive perceptions of self and the world and a positive outlook on change for their future. My experience is through my own counseling practice, supervision, education and training.

Daialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use DBT to help clients strengthen positive beliefs about themselves and their worldview. My experience is through training, education, reading, researching and experience in practice with clients.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I use this approach for clients who are struggling with PTSD and need help processing their trauma. This treatment method is highly effective for individuals who have PTSD. This treatment method helps people rewire their brain and learn to feel safe in the present moment even when talking or thinking about their trauma. This approach helps client live a life that feels safer than the one they lived before.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use this approach for clients with a specific need who want to accomplish something within 6 months.

Ms. Nguyen is a good person and is passionate about helping people. However, I prefer a more focused and client-led therapy experience. If you prefer a more directive therapist, she may be a good fit for you.
