Kimberly Kordi
Hi, I’m Kimberly, a licensed trauma therapist providing trauma-informed EMDR therapy for WOMEN struggling with anxiety, trauma, and grief. Many of the clients I work with are high-functioning on the outside but feel anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally stuck on the inside. You might be carrying unresolved trauma or chronic stress that hasn’t responded to traditional talk therapy and are looking for a more effective, body-based approach. I specialize in EMDR therapy, nervous-system–informed care, and trauma-focused treatment, helping clients process past experiences safely while building emotional regulation and resilience in the present. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and paced, with a strong emphasis on stabilization, safety, and lasting change.
I started my journey in therapy by working with children and adolescents at a non-profit organization.
Outside of the therapy room, I’m a mom and a human navigating life right alongside my clients. I value authenticity, humor, and honesty, and I bring those qualities into my work. If you’re looking for a trauma-informed therapist who offers EMDR therapy and prioritizes safety, effectiveness, and genuine connection, you’re in the right place.
First session
In our first session together, we will introduce ourselves and I will collect helpful information about you that includes goals and concerns. Together we will discuss a treatment plan to address your specific concerns.
Strengths
I feel that I am a compassionate and caring person. I am able to listen to your personal struggles and experiences because it is unique to you. My approach is collaborative, I let the client take the lead and if they need guidance I can support that as well. My number one goal as a provider is to have the client feel safe with me. When you are ready to take the next steps to make changes in your life, I will be here to support you!
Ideal clients
I love working with young women, college students, and new moms as they face life changes and challenges. My ideal client is open to start making actionable steps to achieve their identified goals. This may include talking about previously avoided topics, setting boundaries, using coping skills, engaging in reprocessing of certain triggers. I welcome all my clients to engage in a collaborative approach.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I've used CBT therapies to address depressive/anxiety disorders and adjustment disorders.
EMDR
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing is a type of therapy that can help address symptoms of trauma through eye movements or alternative movements such as tapping. My approach to EMDR incorporates aspects of somatic movement. When a trauma event occurs it seems to get locked in the nervous system with the original picture, sounds, thoughts and feelings. The eye movements used in EMDR seem to unlock the nervous system and allow the brain to reprocess the experience similar to what is happening in REM or dream sleep, the eye movements help to process the unconscious material. The clients brain begins to heal and moves towards health and balance.
