Sara Abdelhadi
Greetings! I'm a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) based in California. I have 10 years of experience working as a school counselor. This work includes working with children and teens on anxiety and familial stress. Also, I have been practicing clinical therapy for 5 years.
Having worked with the individual clients as well entire-family unit, I've developed an understanding to the common issues we face in society.
In this realm of work, I support individuals struggling with life issues and transitions to become the best versions of themselves.
First session
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Strengths
Having worked with the individual clients as well entire-family unit, I've developed an understanding to the common issues we face in society. I have experience working with clients on career counseling, social emotional support, and individual life adjustment. I aim to actively listen to your concerns and provide you with strategies that lead to measurable progress.
Ideal clients
I love working with women and who are in the first few years of motherhood. My clients are eager to adjust, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about their choices and needs. Also, I am passionate about helping individuals on finding practical solutions to their problems. We collaborate on identifying the issue at hand and creating coping strategies to lessen their load.
Treatment methods
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) is a goal-oriented therapeutic approach focused on identifying and amplifying solutions rather than dwelling on problems. We will work on emphasizing clients' strengths and resources, aiming to empower them to find their own solutions to challenges.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a psychotherapeutic approach used to address mental health issues by examining the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We will work on helping the client identify negative thought patterns and develop strategies to challenge and replace them with more realistic and adaptive ones.
Reality Therapy
With reality therapy, I aim to help individuals take responsibility for their actions and make positive changes by examining their current circumstances, setting attainable goals, and making realistic plans to achieve them. This therapy emphasizes personal accountability, self-evaluation, and practical problem-solving techniques to bring about constructive behavioral changes.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
In my practice, I create individualized ERP plans tailored to each client’s specific triggers, tolerance levels, and goals. We work collaboratively to build a hierarchy of feared situations or thoughts, and I provide structured support as clients work through exposures in a manageable and empowering way. I emphasize psychoeducation, mindfulness, and self-compassion to help clients better understand the cycle of anxiety and break free from patterns of avoidance and control.
