Shannon Erickson
Hello! Life can throw us occasional curve balls or have us feeling a certain way for longer than we would hope. We will work together to explore your concerns and develop a concrete, tailored plan for treatment. I am excited to work together to get you feeling better!
I am client centered, an engaged and intent listener who is excited to nudge you towards making your desired changes.
A little bit about me, I received my MSW at the University of North Dakota and I am a board certified, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. I have an extensive background with the treatment of many types of mental health diagnosis and have provided clinical services in a variety of settings including homes, clinics and hospital systems.
First session
In our first session we will begin by introducing ourselves and I’ll learn more about what you plan to achieve during our time together. We will make concrete goals and make an action plan to get you feeling better!
Strengths
I am client centered, an engaged and intent listener who is excited to nudge you towards making your desired changes. Clients I have worked with appreciate my kind and direct approach.
Ideal clients
I enjoy working with individuals who are interested in learning how to cope with symptoms that impact their daily living. The clients I work with are eager to improve their situations and have strong follow through.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have been using CBT to treat individuals with a variety of difficulties for 9 years. This modality of treatment is straightforward, providing education and skills to assist individuals in reducing problematic symptoms.
Motivational Interviewing
I have been using motivational interviewing for 12 years. This method is so wonderful as it works closely with the person to review areas for change and finds intrinsic motivations within the individual to make changes.
