Welcome to Grow Therapy. I’m Dr. Frank J. Gallo, a licensed psychologist in Rhode Island (License: PS02017) and Massachusetts (License: PSY9800). I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)—a structured, evidence-based process—to help you build resilience, clarify your values, and facilitate meaningful changes in how you think and respond to difficulty. If you’re looking for a therapist who brings both depth and a practical framework to our work, I may be the right fit.
To make the most of our first session, I ask that you complete all requested forms at least 24 hours in advance. This allows me to review your background and goals beforehand, helping us build a safe, focused foundation so we can spend our time addressing what brings you into therapy. Please reach out with any questions before our appointment.
You may choose me as your therapist if you’re looking for a practical, direct approach. My sessions are built on a collaborative environment that encourages candor and feedback, fostering a strong working alliance to support your growth. I use experiential exercises to help you explore how your thoughts, feelings, and actions align with your personal values. This process can facilitate a path toward “valued living,” which may help you navigate life’s challenges with greater purpose.
I primarily work with adults (21–64) navigating general anxiety, anger, or post-trauma stress that interferes with work, family, health, or social connection. My approach is ideal for people willing to engage with unpleasant thoughts and feelings rather than trying to “get rid” of them. If your goal is to stop letting tough thoughts control your life and you want to start taking action toward a life that aligns with your values—such as interacting effectively with coworkers or caring for your family lovingly—then you may be an excellent fit for my practice. I am best positioned to serve people ready to be open and learn how to live a meaningful, fulfilling life, even when things are hard.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a structured, scientifically supported process designed to help people develop mental flexibility. Through this approach, a person can learn to engage with difficult thoughts and feelings more effectively, rather than struggling to suppress or avoid them. This training focuses on helping a person clarify what’s important by identifying their personal values so they can begin taking committed action toward the life they want to live. Engaging in this work may help a person break free from limiting patterns and support a more meaningful, values-driven way of navigating life’s challenges.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy uses scientifically supported principles and practices designed to help a person further develop and strengthen mental flexibility, enabling them to adapt to situational demands with awareness and openness. This approach incorporates breathing and relaxation strategies and exercises. These practices can support a person in navigating life’s challenges, fostering mental agility, emotional resilience, and overall well-being.
Prolonged exposure therapy is a scientifically supported treatment for a post-traumatic stress injury. This therapy helps individuals safely and under controlled conditions confront trauma-related memories and situations. This process can help reduce the power these experiences have, potentially decreasing symptoms like anxiety and avoidance and supporting overall mental health.
