Clients say this provider is
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) holding licenses in Massachusetts, Illinois and Michigan. I received my Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan, and have worked in the mental health field for about 8 years in different settings with children, adults, and families. I use a empathetic and calming approach in my session that allows every client to be heard and understood. I believe healing is truly possible when my client is given a safe and supportive space to voice their thoughts and feelings. Through your sessions with me, you will build up your skills to better understand and manage your feelings that are currently weighing you down.
My clients can expect a welcoming and friendly environment that will seek to establish a productive and therapeutic relationship from the start. I will start by getting to know you and your unique story and develop a collaborative action plan for positive change in our work together.
I have an easy going and friendly demeanor that allows clients to feel comfortable and safe working with me. I also offer patience and persistence, as well as a non-judgemental approach that allows me to meet clients where they are at and provide guidance in their journey, wherever that may be.
My ideal clients are adults and young adults dealing with the weight of anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. Wherever you are in life, I provide a safe and supportive space to process and work through problems to rediscover the whole person that you are capable of being.

I use DBT to help clients in regulating their emotions and learning distress tolerance skills, as well as helping clients to pursue healthier and more productive relationships.
I use TFCBT to help clients heal from the trauma of their past and reframe the messages and themes from earlier trauma in their lives. I use trauma narratives and narrative therapy as an exposure method to help clients talk and explore their past traumas
I use ACT as a method to help clients find acceptance in themselves in a non-judgemental and healthy way. I help clients connect with their values and to find happiness and joy in their lives through a value-based existence.
I use mindfulness techniques to help clients connect with their body and learn comforting and non-judgemental approaches to dealing with daily stresses.

I like Benjamin so far. I chose him for his background, and he was easy to talk to. I'm looking forward to Mr. Johnson using his experience and intelligence to aide me in my mental health journey.

Ben is great. He’s patient, kind, outgoing, and attentive. He doesn’t judge, he holds you accountable, and helps with providing solutions to your problems. He meets you where you’re at, and guides you through your struggles.

Just two sessions in but Benjamin does an effective job of asking constructive questions. It feels like we are working toward defining what I need from a professional and not just talking blindly. Hoping things continue in a positive direction.
