I’m an LMHC specializing in women’s mental health, particularly during times of transition. Many of the women I work with are looking for more than just coping skills – they want to understand themselves better, make sense of what they’re experiencing, and stop feeling stuck in cycles of overthinking, perfectionism, or self-criticism. These patterns can often show up around life transitions – relationships, career shifts, becoming a parent, working in high-pressure or caregiving roles, or moving through midlife and perimenopause. That’s often the point where we can start to question ourselves or try to figure it out on our own – and where this work begins. Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 15 years in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry. I’ve worked in high-pressure, analytical environments, and I understand what it’s like to hold things together on the outside when something feels off underneath. Alongside that, I trained as a Reiki Master, Polarity Practitioner, and licensed massage therapist. This path started as a way of finding a different kind of balance for myself – one that didn’t rely on always pushing through, and allowed for a different way of relating to myself. That combination now shapes how I approach mental health. I tend to look at things through both a science-informed lens – looking at biology and the nervous system – and an awareness of how experiences live in the body and take on meaning over time.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is a chance to talk about what brought you in, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you want to feel different. We’ll also go over logistics – policies, informed consent, and how therapy works – so you know what to expect. Most first sessions feel more like a conversation than anything formal, so you don’t need to plan anything out ahead of time.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I tend to look at what’s going on from a few different angles – how your body is responding, the meaning you’ve made of your experiences, and how it all starts to come together when we slow it down and really look at it. Experiences that feel intuitive, symbolic, or hard to explain are welcome, and we can get curious about what they might be showing you. We often look beneath the surface of symptoms, exploring thoughts, emotions, and reactions as signals rather than problems to fix. As we slow things down and pay attention to what’s coming up, we can start to understand what those experiences are pointing to – whether that’s unmet needs, internal conflicts, or parts of you that haven’t had much space to be heard. Sessions may include journaling, guided reflection, body scans and meditations, or working with symbolic or creative prompts such as tarot or oracle cards. These aren’t used for prediction, but as tools to support insight, self-understanding, and a deeper awareness of yourself over time.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

This approach tends to be a good fit for women who think deeply and reflect on their experiences, and want to understand themselves more fully rather than just manage symptoms. I commonly work with anxiety, trauma, relationship patterns, burnout, and the impact of high-stress or caregiving roles, along with life transitions and shifts across different stages of life, including pregnancy, postpartum and perimenopause. Many women come in feeling overwhelmed, self-critical, or unsure of themselves, and are trying to make sense of how past experiences, expectations, or relationship dynamics are still shaping their lives. If you’re drawn to slowing things down, getting curious about what’s going on, and taking a more thoughtful, insight-oriented approach to change, this may feel like a good fit.

In addition to the thorough orientation, my first session with Laura was very productive. We were able to build a positive working relationship quickly and I felt like I made some good initial progress in this first session. I left the session feeling a bit lighter, more empowered, and comforted knowing I am on the right path toward healing and wellbeing. Laura’s bio helped me to choose a therapist that I believe will be a good fit for me, and in alignment with my personal wellness goals.

Laura is THE best therapist I've ever had. She follows your brain wherever it wants to go in the session without trying to control the conversation. She is open minded, personable, authentic and turns the mirror back on your inner self. She has been monumental in helping me heal after multiple traumatic events. She never judges you, but always points out when you're judging yourself. She is doing the grit work with me to change my inner voice into a gentler one. She's absolutely phenomenal!!!
