New to Grow
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Educational Psychologist, and Nationally Certified School Psychologist with over 25 years of experience working with children and families. I have two master's degrees in counseling psychology and school psychology. I have experience working with a wide range of mental health disorders, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, learning disabilities, Autism, executive functioning disorders, trauma, and adjustment disorders. My expertise is working with teens and young adults as they transition through adolescence into adulthood. I enjoy supporting adults as they navigate life changes, including divorce, family struggles, and career changes. My growing interests are in sports psychology and working with athletes.
In our first session together, we will spend time getting to know each other as I learn about what brings you to therapy. We will talk about your presenting concerns and the support I will provide. By the end of your session, we will have created a clear and focused goal to strive towards during our time together. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions and explore your treatment options. I look forward to getting to know you!
I am most familiar with brief solution-focused therapy. However, after getting to know my clients, I pick the most appropriate therapeutic approach. I enjoy combining different approaches. I like CBT, ACT, and Narrative therapy the most, but I pull from a wide variety of therapy approaches to see what will work best with my clients.
My passion is working with teens, young adults, and adults experiencing major life changes. I enjoy helping teens navigate the pressures of academics and social development. I provide psychoeducation as they navigate their journey towards adulthood when they are experiencing anxiety, depression, and high stress. I have a growing interest in sports psychology and in supporting elite student-athletes. Additionally, I enjoy working with adults going through life transitions and family issues such as divorce, strained family relationships, and major career changes.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I integrate various ACT concepts into therapy sessions. I often combine this approach with other therapeutic modalities. I've been using ACT within the past year.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I integrate CBT strategies into almost all of my therapy sessions. I find reframing thoughts can be very powerful.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I've used DBT for clients who struggle the most with talk therapy. I often combine DBT with psychoeducation to help my clients better understand how the mind and body are connected.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I briefly review Mindfulness strategies with clients and provided modeling when needed. I often combine ACT and Mindfulness during sessions.
Psychoeducation
I use psychoeducation in all of my treatment plans. It is essential for clients to understand why they are experiences the challenges they are facing and provide related facts so clients can make informed decisions.
