Hi there! My name is Angelica Sanchez and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California. My experience in community mental health for several years has allowed me to gain experience in working with a wide range of individuals. In working with children, adolescents, and adults I have learned how important it is to be caring, flexible, and nonjudgmental for my clients. I am passionate in helping my clients cope with life's challenges and reach their personal mental health goals. If you're dealing with stress, trauma, relationship issues or cycles of anxiety and depression, I'm here to help. I do not see any clients under the age of 16.
In our first session, we'll start with brief introductions and discuss your expectations for therapy. We will also discuss your current challenges and what an ideal outcome may look like for you. This will allow me to understand your goals and how I can best support you in future sessions.
I feel that my biggest strengths are the ability to be nonjudgmental and provide a safe environment to help others gain insight into their struggles. I meet clients where they are at and work with my clients collaboratively throughout the entire process to build up their personal strengths.
I love working with adolescents and adults who are looking to make a difference in their lives. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality.
I have been using an eclectic approach to therapy for over 5 years, and my clients consistently benefit from this flexible and integrative method that draws on techniques and principles from various therapeutic models to best address the individual needs of each specific client. Rather than adhering strictly to one specific therapeutic framework, I combine elements from different theories and practices based on what seems most effective for a particular client’s issues and goals. I use a variety of Evidenced-Based Practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP) to address Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Relationship issues, and Stress management.
