My name is Anthony Garcia, and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I work with adults to help them navigate challenges like trauma, anxiety, grief, abandonment, and relational struggles. I provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where healing can begin, and I’m passionate about empowering my clients to find hope, resilience, and meaningful change in their lives. Navigating mental health can be a daunting journey for many individuals. A significant hurdle encountered when seeking support is the stigma associated with mental health. I understand the feelings of fear that can hold you back from seeking help. The hopelessness, one can experience is relatable, yet I also recognize the transformative power that seeking therapy brings. While delving into the complexities of the past may be painful, I provide a safe space where healing can begin. I believe that healing is hidden in the stories we share, let's collectively break the stigma surrounding mental health by igniting a spark of hope today. My goal is to foster a compassionate therapeutic connection that empowers you to make informed decisions and choices within and beyond our sessions. Through EMDR and other techniques, this process aims to cultivate a profound sense of self, enabling you to navigate life with resilience, regardless of the challenges or triumphs encountered. Together, we'll unveil your preferred narrative, identify intentions, set goals, and challenge barriers hindering your achievement. My approach prioritizes a nurturing, strength-focused, and collaborative environment, drawing on your unique strengths and insights. Reach out and make today the day you ignite a spark of hope and spread hope like fire.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, I focus on creating a welcoming and supportive environment. I introduce clients to the therapy process by explaining therapeutic boundaries and expectations, listening to their needs, and answering any questions they may have. Together, we begin to outline treatment goals and establish a foundation for our work moving forward.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider is my ability to create a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel truly heard and supported. I bring compassion, empathy, and a deep understanding of the challenges my clients face, along with a tailored approach that integrates evidence-based practices like CBT, attachment theory, and EMDR. I also draw on personal experiences to connect authentically with clients, helping them feel understood as we work together to ignite hope and foster meaningful change.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work best with clients who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, abandonment, and panic. I also deeply connect with those who are seeking to rediscover hope and resilience within themselves. My approach is compassionate and tailored to empower clients to heal, grow, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.

My treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) holds a special place in my heart and my practice. Having personally experienced the profound healing power of EMDR, I chose it as my primary therapeutic modality to help others achieve similar breakthroughs. While widely known for its effectiveness in treating trauma and PTSD, EMDR has also been incredibly helpful for clients struggling with anxiety, depression, phobias, chronic pain, grief, and even performance-related challenges. In my sessions, EMDR becomes a powerful tool to help clients reprocess difficult memories and beliefs, shifting the way these experiences impact their lives. Together, we ignite hope by reducing emotional distress, building healthier coping strategies, and creating lasting positive change. EMDR truly embodies my belief that our healing comes from the stories we tell others—allowing my clients to reclaim their stories and their lives. I use EMDR in my practice to help clients reprocess distressing memories, negative beliefs, and overwhelming emotions that may be holding them back. By targeting how these experiences are stored in the brain, EMDR helps clients move toward resolution, allowing them to reduce emotional distress, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and achieve a greater sense of clarity and self-confidence. What I appreciate most about EMDR is its ability to create significant and lasting change in a relatively short period of time compared to some other modalities. It is a structured, evidence-based approach that empowers clients to work through deeply ingrained patterns and reclaim control over their lives. For many clients, EMDR provides the key to unlocking new perspectives and achieving a sense of balance and well-being.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT aligns perfectly with my practical, compassionate approach to therapy. As someone who deeply values real-world solutions, I use CBT to empower my clients with effective tools for managing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, and self-esteem struggles. Together, we challenge and reframe unhelpful thought patterns, creating clarity and building strategies for meaningful change. My clients learn to confidently apply these techniques in their daily lives, sparking hope and achieving lasting growth.

Attachment-based

Attachment-based therapy resonates deeply with my belief in the power of human connection. I know firsthand that the stories from our earliest relationships profoundly shape who we become. In my practice, I guide clients in exploring their attachment patterns, healing relational wounds, and nurturing secure, fulfilling connections with themselves and others. By compassionately addressing underlying attachment wounds, clients experience greater emotional resilience, deeper trust, and lasting relational fulfillment.
