I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I spent 5 years working in community mental health agencies with clients that had severe mental health diagnoses such as: Major depression, addiction, bipolar I & II, schizoaffective disorder as well as psychotic disorders. I provided case management, individual therapy and ran the following groups: LGBTQ+, Substance Abuse and CBT Skills. I have experience with adolescents, adults and elders.
During the first session, I will get to know you. I’ll be able to answer any questions about how therapy works and about myself if necessary. Together we will create goals for therapy.
My goal is to provide a safe and secure environment for my clients. A place to share one’s feelings, emotions and life experiences without feeling judged or pathologized. I believe the root of most internal discomfort is connected to our lack of or diminishing self worth/confidence/acceptance. I believe all my clients have the answers necessary to their healing but as a therapist I can be a guide through this journey. As an eclectic therapist I pull from various therapeutic modalities such as: attachment theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic and person centered therapy. My approach is warm and empathetic. I provide coping skills, psycho-education and emotional regulation training that can be practiced in session. I am a member of the lgbtq+ community. This is a safe space for all people including lgbtq+ members, sex workers and BIPOC.
Clients that are highly motivated to work on themselves whom are often 18+, entering therapy by choice.
I use a variety of therapeutic modalities. Tailoring to the specific needs of each client.
