Hi, my name is Kristin I am a LCSW licensed by the state of California. I received master’s degree in social work from California State University Long Beach in 2012. I have a wealth of experience as a psychotherapist working for the state of California in various clinical social work roles. I specialize in crisis and trauma with experience working in crisis stabilization units. I have also been a 5150 designated person by way of Los Angeles County, and I am a EMDR trained Therapist. I am also a medical social worker, with experience working in hospice and dialysis. I am now a trauma informed therapist to assist clients in the healing process and move clients from victim to victory. I believe clients who are living with past trauma, and heavy emotions need support. I am especially helpful at helping my clients find the ground when everything feels out of control. I am ready, willing and able to support your confidence about ways to handle the turmoil that life brings.
At the first session, clients can expect a warm, safe, nonjudgemental environment. We will build rapport and create an individualized treatment plan together.
Through my own struggles with depression, anxiety and trauma, I went back to school to become a Social Worker. My greatest strength is empathy and compassion which came out of my own struggles. I have 13 years of mental health experience. I became a mental health provider to assist clients in the healing process just as someone assisted me on my personal journey of healing.
I work well with adults and couples dealing with heavy emotions, confusion, or ADHD. I offer a safe environment and utilize skills that support healing, empowerment, and vibrant thriving. I use Christian Counseling, Mindfulness, CBT, and Bereavement Counseling to support solution-oriented conversations. If you are battling a lack of connection, motivation, sadness, negative thinking, racing thoughts, anxiety, or depression I am sure we can find your best answers together.
I utilize CBT to assist clients in restructuring their thinking patterns.
I utilize Christian counseling to assist Christian clients through scriptural biblical principles.
I utilize grief counseling to help clients cope with their loss and learn new ways to manage their grief.
To bring about an awareness of clients, feelings, emotions, thoughts, and behaviors, and the affect they have on relationships and mood.
I utilized Motivational Interviewing to assess a client's readiness for change.
