I am Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York and Florida. I am also certified as a substance abuse counselor in New York (CASAC) and Florida (CAC). My extensive expertise, combined with my empathetic and empowering approach, has contributed towards helping clients like you discover your strengths and achieve meaningful change. I provide individual, couples, family and group counseling sessions.
During our first session, I will take the time to get to know you, understand what brings you to therapy, and learn about the experiences that have shaped where you are today. We will discuss your concerns, goals, and expectations for treatment while identifying the areas you would like to focus on. My goal is to create a comfortable, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard and respected. Together, we will develop a collaborative treatment approach that is tailored to your individual needs, strengths, and goals.
I am culturally sensitive, empathetic, and skilled at building trust within the therapeutic relationship. I recognize and respect the unique cultural backgrounds and experiences of each client, creating a safe and inclusive space for growth and healing. By fostering an environment of understanding and mutual respect, I am able to establish strong, trusting connections that support clients in their journey toward self-discovery and personal transformation.
My ideal client is an individual, couple, or family who is ready to gain insight, make meaningful changes, and work toward a healthier and more fulfilling life. I enjoy working with clients who may be struggling with relationship challenges, communication difficulties, trauma, anxiety, anger, life transitions, or patterns that are no longer serving them. My ideal clients may feel stuck, overwhelmed, misunderstood, or uncertain about where to begin, but are willing to explore their experiences and take steps toward change. I also welcome clients who want to incorporate their faith or spirituality into therapy when it aligns with their personal beliefs and goals. I meet each client where they are, offering compassion, understanding, and practical tools while empowering them to recognize their strengths, develop healthier coping strategies, improve their relationships, and create lasting positive change.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in sessions to help you identify and challenge negative thought patterns that influence your emotions and behaviors. By teaching you to reframe these thoughts and adopt healthier perspectives, you begin to feel empowered to develop effective coping strategies. Through structured exercises like journaling, role-playing, or thought records, you can practice these skills and build resilience over time.
I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as a trauma-focused approach to help clients process distressing experiences and reduce the emotional impact of traumatic memories. I provide a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment while helping clients develop the skills and resources needed to feel grounded and in control throughout the therapeutic process. EMDR can help clients work through painful experiences, reduce distressing thoughts and emotions, strengthen positive beliefs, and move toward greater healing, resilience, and emotional well-being.
I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore their thoughts, feelings, values, and personal reasons for change in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment. Rather than telling clients what they should do, I collaborate with them to identify their strengths, increase self-awareness, and build confidence in their ability to make meaningful changes. This approach helps clients work through uncertainty, overcome barriers, strengthen motivation, and take purposeful steps toward achieving their personal and therapeutic goals.
I recognize that faith and spirituality can be an important source of strength, hope, guidance, and healing. When desired by the client, I incorporate faith-based and spiritually integrated approaches into therapy while honoring each individual’s beliefs, values, and personal journey. My approach is client-centered and respectful, allowing clients to explore the role of faith in their relationships, emotional well-being, healing, and personal growth without judgment or pressure.
I provide trauma-informed care that recognizes how past experiences can impact emotions, relationships, behaviors, and overall well-being. I create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can process difficult experiences at their own pace while developing healthier coping skills and a stronger sense of safety and self-worth. My approach is compassionate and individualized, with a focus on helping clients understand their experiences, build resilience, regain a sense of control, and move toward healing and meaningful change.

First session went very well. I am a little OCD about research & after reviewing profiles on over 100 therapist listed on Growtherapy, she stood out as the most qualified & open to adult group family therapy. She listened carefully to the background information & what I hoped to accomplish through therapy. She then summarized a plan & goals for a path to success! Her willingness to included all parties was essential & helped me feel supported! I look forward to working with her going forward!
