Hi, I am a Licensed professional counselor (LPC) based in Arizona. I earned my master's in professional counseling through Grand Canyon University and have been practicing for the past 4 years. I help adolescents and adults overcome struggles of anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and trauma that hold people back from being the most empowered version of themselves. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My first session with you is simple, begin building rapport while exploring specific needs, wants, and expectations for your services. This first session is heavily person centered while we work on developing counseling goals. Developing goals is the first step in empowering you by having you take an active role in your therapy. Setting these goals will help you personalize your therapy process to your unique needs, preferences, and circumstances. It ensures that the therapy is relevant and responsive to what you specifically want to work on. Clearly defined goals will help with motivation by breaking down the therapeutic journey into manageable steps to reduce overwhelm and fears and achieving these small goals along the way can build confidence and encourage continued efforts. Lastly counseling goals offer a tangible way to track your progress over time. They serve as benchmarks, allowing the both of us to see how far you have come and where adjustments may be needed.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My experiences with using a combination of different therapeutic interventions such as CBT, DBT, IPT, trauma informed, IFS, solution-focused, MI, behavioral modifications and others makes me adaptable to meet the needs of my clients from multiple angles. My ability to connect with clients on a deep level helps build strong therapeutic relationships and creates a safe space for healing. I focus on teaching my clients practical skills so that they can make lasting changes. I demonstrate empathy, understanding, support, and make a commitment to my client's personal growth so that they can become the best versions of themselves.

I love working with clients who are tired of navigating the obstacles that anxiety, depression, emotional instability, and trauma cause in their day-to-day functionality and relationships. I want to be able to provide my clients with evidence-based skills, education, and a better understanding of oneself to make lasting changes in their lives that improve their mental well-being. I am a very goal-oriented, solution focused type provider that works well with clients that engage and want to do the work to achieve their goals and improve their lives. If you are wanting to make lasting changes to overcome anxiety that keep you stuck or frozen, reduce symptoms of depression that keep you isolated and not enjoying life, reduce conflicts in your personal, romantic, or professional lives due to not knowing how to control your emotional responses or heal from past traumas by exploring and developing a deeper understanding of how that specific event(s) impacted your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors then I am the provider for you. I also hold specialized training in helping survivors of narcissistic and psychopathic love relationships. Together we will walk a path of self-awareness one journey at a time.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT in my sessions because I find it helps empower my clients by helping them understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This understanding allows my clients to take control of their mental health and make lasting positive changes. CBT teaches my clients practical skills and coping mechanisms that they can use in their daily lives to manage stress, anxiety, and other emotional challenges and are often applicable long after therapy has ended.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have been using DBT in my sessions because of the many applications it provides to my clients. It is useful to clients that struggle with intense emotions by providing skills for managing and regulating emotions, helping clients respond to situations more calmly and effectively. Mindfulness helps my clients stay grounded in their present moments. This is beneficial for reducing anxiety, improving emotional awareness, and enhancing overall mental well-being. Distress tolerance, which help clients cope with crises and stressful situations without resorting to self-destructive behaviors, and interpersonal effectiveness skills have helped my clients learn how to navigate relationships more effectively, including setting boundaries, communicating needs, and handling conflicts.

Trauma Informed Care

I have been working with clients that struggle with trauma symptoms and by using a trauma informed base care approach this prioritizes safety, empowerment, and understanding, which are essential for effective healing. This treatment method creates a foundation of safety, respect, and understanding, enabling my clients to heal from their trauma in a supportive and empowering environment. This approach recognizes the complexity of trauma and offers a compassionate path toward recovery.
