About me

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a quiet strength and a deep respect for the human spirit. I work best with individuals navigating grief, identity shifts, spiritual questions, and emotional weariness. Many of my clients are men carrying silent burdens, people processing complex family dynamics, or individuals seeking peace after loss. Rather than chasing quick fixes, I believe in the slow and sacred process of healing. My work blends clinical wisdom with spiritual depth – drawing on both traditional therapy models and soul-centered insights. I don’t offer all the answers, but I walk beside you with honesty, humility, and a deep regard for what you’re carrying. I bring my whole self to this work: therapist, father, husband, philosopher, man of faith. If you’re looking for a grounded space to explore what matters, release what no longer serves, or rebuild from a place of honesty, you’re in the right place. Therapy with me is conversational, reflective, and anchored in trust. You won’t find formulas here – just a real relationship focused on healing what hurts and helping you live more freely.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building a foundation of trust. I’ll guide us through a psychosocial assessment, which is simply a structured way for me to understand your life story, strengths, current struggles, and what has led you to seek therapy now. We’ll touch on areas such as your relationships, work, health, family history, and any previous experiences with therapy or significant life events. This process is collaborative and conversational — not an interrogation. You’re free to share only what feels comfortable. I’ll also invite you to reflect on what you're hoping to gain from our work together, whether that’s greater clarity, healing, support, or something else entirely. Above all, this first session is about creating a space where you feel safe, seen, and not alone. There’s no need to prepare or perform — just come as you are.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths is my ability to hold space for the full range of the human experience — from deep sorrow to sacred insight. Clients often tell me they feel genuinely seen and safe in my presence, not because I offer quick fixes, but because I listen with intention, attune with care, and reflect with honesty. I bring a blend of clinical training and spiritual depth to the work. With a background in social work and philosophy, I’m both grounded in evidence-based practices and drawn to life’s deeper questions. I value wisdom, humility, and the sacredness of each person’s story. Whether we are working through grief, addiction, trauma, or spiritual questioning, I meet clients with compassion and curiosity rather than judgment or pretense. My lived experience also informs my work. I know what it means to walk through pain, to wrestle with purpose, and to come out the other side with greater clarity. That authenticity allows me to connect deeply with clients who are weary of surface-level conversations and ready for something more honest and meaningful. Relationally, I’m steady. I’m not afraid to gently challenge patterns when needed, but always from a place of respect. My work isn’t about advice-giving — it’s about joining you as a fellow traveler who can help you find your own voice, peace, and strength. Above all, my work is rooted in presence — showing up fully, listening deeply, and walking alongside you with reverence for your unique path.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are not defined by a diagnosis, demographic, or life stage, but by their hunger for truth, depth, and healing. They are people who have grown weary of surface-level solutions and are longing for something more — not quick fixes, but meaningful change. Many are carrying the weight of past pain: family wounds, relationship losses, spiritual confusion, or the deep ache of feeling unseen. Some have felt like outsiders in their own lives — sensitive, introspective, or out of sync with the fast pace and hollow promises of modern culture. They’re not afraid of asking the big questions. In fact, they can’t not ask them. These clients value insight and depth. They want a therapist who isn’t just clinically trained, but spiritually attuned — someone who listens not only with their ears, but with their whole presence. They are drawn to therapy not just to manage symptoms, but to reclaim wholeness. Many are navigating a season of transition or grief, standing at the crossroads of who they’ve been and who they’re becoming. Some are wrestling with burnout, disillusionment, or spiritual dryness. Others are recovering from codependency, perfectionism, or the long shadow of emotionally immature or absent caregivers. They are open, but discerning. They’re not interested in rigid formulas. They want a relational space where mercy and truth can co-exist — a place where they can breathe, question, and be held with both reverence and honesty. They are willing to explore the tension between sorrow and joy, suffering and surrender, hope and realism. They are not looking for a savior — they’re looking for a witness, a guide, and a steady companion as they do the sacred work of becoming more fully themselves. They are often reflective. Many journal, pray, walk, read, or sit in quiet moments of contemplation. They value simplicity, sincerity, and soulfulness. Some identify with a particular faith tradition — especially Christianity — while others are spiritual but not religious, wounded by the church or disillusioned by systems that felt more performative than compassionate. Regardless of background, what they seek is an embodied, compassionate approach that honors both the psychological and the spiritual. They want therapy that feels like a safe haven — not a performance, not a lecture, not a checkbox — but a place where they can be real. These clients appreciate warmth, directness, and humility. They value a therapist who brings his full humanity into the room

My treatment methods

Faith based therapy

I integrate spirituality as a source of strength, meaning, and healing. I honor each person’s journey and use spiritual insight as a companion to therapeutic growth — without imposing beliefs.

Existential

I help clients explore life’s big questions — purpose, freedom, suffering, and identity — and support them in finding meaning through uncertainty, transition, or loss.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Grounded in mindfulness and values, ACT helps clients move through pain without resistance and align their lives with what truly matters.

Relational

I focus on the healing power of the therapeutic relationship itself, offering a safe and supportive space for clients to be seen, heard, and understood.

Supportive

Sometimes what we need most is someone to sit with us in our humanity. I provide steady emotional support and grounded encouragement through life’s ups and downs.

Paul is an astute and compassionate couple's therapist. I don't think I could have found anyone better to help navigate a difficult time. Good couple's therapy takes away ambivalence/ambiguity and leaves you with clarity on how to proceed. Paul led us to a lot of clarity. Thank you, Paul.
