Hi! I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida. I graduated from Walden University with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with specialization in Crisis and Trauma. I also attended the Northern Illinois University School Counselor Institute where I received my endorsement in school counseling. I have held certifications in Advanced Trauma Treatment for Children and Adolescents, Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I have been working with children and teenagers for over 25 years and have been in the counseling field for just over 6 years.
After intake paperwork is completed by the parent/guardian (unless client is 18 years old), the parent, child, and I will complete a social history/assessment, so that I can get a complete history of the presenting problem. My goal is for my client to return ready to improve themselves.
I have worked with children and adolescents for many years, which has allowed me to quickly connect to them on a therapeutic level. I have had many clients tell me that they do not want to talk to me about things and they quickly find themselves telling me everything.
My goal is to work with children and adolescents and effect a difference in their lives. Whether it be in a clinical or school setting, my fulfillment will come from the lives that I touch. Counseling is a passion of mine and working with children and adolescents to assist them in navigating their way through life will be very rewarding to me.
My primary theory of choice is CBT. I will sometimes integrate other treatment methods.
