You are doing your best, but your ability to create the life you want to be living has been blocked. Maybe your life feels like it is falling apart and you don’t understand how you got here. Perhaps you are stuck in hard memories from the past or lost in uncertainty about taking the next step. You might be challenged with difficult emotions, painful thoughts, or unharmonious relationships. Therapy with me is an opportunity to step back, examine what is and isn’t working in how you are living your life, and make changes that allow you to move forward. My work digs deeper to get to the heart of the problems bringing you in.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session is a wonderful opportunity to get a better understanding of your hopes for therapy and to make sure that working together feels like a good fit.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

We come to therapy needing to express ourselves authentically. I create a safe, judgment-free place where you can come to be heard and understood. Most of my patients who have tried therapy before say that working with me is unlike working with any other therapist, and those who are new share their surprise at how easy it is to get into the work together.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Together, we will take a look at your life and explore new ways of showing up that will work better for you. Change is hard, and I will be there to support you through it. I am trained in many therapy methods and tailor my approach to meet your specific needs. From Emotion Focused Therapy to trauma-centered EMDR, I bring tools that support your healing work.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT helps us change our relationship with our problems by teaching us how to be ok with life as it is - even when it is hard. We learn to sit with our difficult thoughts and feelings in new ways, live more fully in the present moment, and connect with our values to do more of what is meaningful to us.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I utilize EFT quite a lot in my practice as it allows for deeper emotional experiencing in a way that feels safe and supported. Many people come to this work with patterns of relating to themselves and others that are no longer working, and EFT helps us identify and shift those patterns.

Gestalt

I started studying Gestalt practice at its birthplace - Esalen Institute. I find that Gestalt offers the most comprehensive and holistic system for being human together.

Brainspotting

Brainspotting provides an updated trauma-processing model that many people find to be more intuitive. One of the things I like best about Brainspotting is the emphasis on strengths and resources to help us work through some of life's hardest moments in a safer way.

EMDR

I took my first EMDR training through Dr. Shapiro's institute in 2015, and it has been a cornerstone of my practice ever since. EMDR helps us work through trauma that goes way beyond talking about what happened. Many people find this system to be profoundly healing.
