Are you feeling stuck, lost, overwhelmed? Maybe all of your "tried-and-true" coping mechanisms are no longer working. Perhaps you are struggling with your relationships, not sure how to fix things, or feel like you're repeating the same patterns in your life. You are not alone! Hi! I'm Shana, and it is my passion to help folks just like you. We all have seasons in our lives where we find ourselves...just...not okay. If this is you, you've come to the right place. Working together we will focus on identifying patterns that may be creating those "stuck" feelings, and we'll explore new skills to bring you back to a place of balance, so you can begin feeling grounded and centered again. We will work on ways to heal and enhance your relationships, with a focus on growth and fulfillment. A whole-self approach will be utilized to balance your mind, body and spirit, while integration of mindfulness techniques and emotional regulation will help you enjoy a stronger relationship with yourself and others. Seeking guidance outside of yourself is a huge step, and it can be scary, but you've made the right choice. Whether you are dealing with "stuckness" or overwhelm, cycles of depression or anxiety, or struggling with relationships, I am here to help. You'll have a safe space to process thoughts/feelings/behaviors, and you'll be met with compassion and a nonjudgmental presence, while we work together to find the way back to you. I'm looking forward to meeting you! *Please note: I am only able to accommodate "in-person" office sessions on Fridays from 10:00-1:00. Virtual sessions will remain accessible on Fridays from 10:00-6:00. Thank you!
Building connection and rapport, determining if this feels like the right fit for you.
Couples: Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a modality driven by attachment theory that allows us to restore connectedness and responsiveness within our partnerships. Biofeedback/Neurotherapy (Thought Technology): allows for immediate computer-based feedback that assesses brainwave activity and teaches us how to regulate and improve brain functioning. All: Cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral activation, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and solution-focused therapy.
I have an eclectic approach to the therapeutic relationship, often pulling from multiple treatment modalities to fit your needs. I find the more flexible I remain in this relationship, the better the outcome for you. I operate with the understanding that only you know all the things that affect your life, but I can be a positive presence while we work together to figure things out. My work with couples has been a passion as long as I have been in the field. Holding space for a couple to speak, to reconnect, and to bare witness to their process of finding their way back to each other, has been one of my life's greatest joys. I am also fascinated with the brain, so my training in neurotherapy was an obvious path early in my career. I still find this modality to be incredibly helpful in working with anxiety and depression.
