Hello! My name is Jolisa Castell. Congratulations on taking the next step in your journey of healing. This journey is challenging but most importantly, rewarding and life changing. I believe, the therapeutic relationship is a partnership in which the client is the expert and will be expected to put in the effort for accountability and be present within the counseling alliance. My goal as your therapist is to provide a safe, environment where we can explore your primary interests, challenges, learn ways to manage your responses to those challenges, and strengthen your resilience, develop goals and determine strengths and assets as you move toward your aspirations
From our first session together, you can expect any and all of your questions to be answered. The first session is all about building rapport and relationship throughout conversation. In the first session, we will further discuss strengths, challenges, carriers, symptoms and duration. From there we will work together to create a treatment plan tailored towards your needs
Rather than adopting one methodology for all individuals and issues, I draw from a variety of methods to create a tailored approach for each individual and situation. Meeting all my clients where they are. Engagement activities can include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Trauma-Informed, Meditation, Emotional-Focusing, Strengths based, Motivational Interviewing and Play therapy to name a few
One of my biggest strengths is building rapport with my clients. Allowing them a safe space to feel comfortable and confident enough to begin opening up and start to tell their story. Listening to understand my client and providing a judgement-free zone, where they can be their true authentic self
