Hi! I'm I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based out of central Florida. I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of South Florida and my Master’s in Social Work from Indiana University. I have also completed my doctoral courses and Social Work and will have my PhD after completing my dissertation. I have been in Private Practice for 7 years and was a Program Manager at a large hospital in Indianapolis for several years prior to private practice. I help individuals reduce anxiety and depression and heal from past trauma. I also work with couples and families.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific reasons that are bringing you in for counseling. At the end of the session I will present you with a plan designed to help you reach your goals and an idea of the types of interventions we will use to reach those goals.
I currently have 15 years of experience providing therapy to individuals, couples, and families. I have extensive experience in treating anxiety, depression, and past trauma.
I love working with individuals who are motivated to change, but recognize that they may not have the tools needed to make changes on their own. Many of my clients want to feel emotionally healthy and have meaningful healthy relationships. They often feel like they’ve tried to make changes but feel stuck or unsure of what else to try.
I’ve been using CBT in my practice for more than a decade. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety and depression. I will use CBT to teach you how to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you reduce anxiety and/or depression.
I use Attachment-based therapy methods to help individuals understand their own attachment style and how it impacts the way they relate with others. I will help you understand the various types of attachment styles, and learn specifically how your own attachment style impacts the way you relate to others. Together we will work toward creating a healthy and secure attachment which will improve your relationships and connections with others.
I have 15 years experience working with couples to accomplish various goals. Whether you desire to build a deeper connection with your partner, or you’re dealing with betrayal or infidelity I am trained to help couples with a variety of goals. I use various evidence based interventions to teach couples how to reconnect, communicate more effectively, build trust, and heal indifferences.
I’ve been trained in EMDR therapy since 2020. EMDR therapy is a specific intervention that is used to treat chronic trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and addiction. I typically recommend this type of intervention once I’ve worked with someone for a few sessions and determine the they would benefit from the intervention. Once we decide to implement EMDR we will devote the next 3-6 sessions specifically to processing memories that are related to the symptoms we are addressing. Most individuals notice a reduction in anxiety or symptoms related to trauma within the first session and continued improvement from that point forward.
Similar to couples counseling, I have 15 years of experience working with families to accomplish a variety of goals. I will work with your family to assess your goals and find effective methods to accomplish these goals. At the end of our first session we will have a comprehensive plan so everyone is aware of the goals and how we will plan to accomplish them. Some of the common things I help families with are parenting techniques, improved communication, healing current and past conflicts, and improving connections
