My treatment methods

EMDR

I have been trained in EMDR and use it regularly in my work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, and adverse life experiences. I integrate EMDR , somatic techniques, and nervous system regulation strategies to support clients through reprocessing distressing memories. My approach is collaborative and client-centered, and I incorporate cognitive interweaves when needed to help clients deepen insight and strengthen adaptive beliefs. EMDR has been especially helpful in my work with individuals experiencing complex trauma, chronic shame, and emotional dysregulation.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT to help clients build psychological flexibility and relate differently to their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. My work often focuses on values clarification, mindfulness-based strategies, and committed action to support clients in moving toward meaningful goals even in the presence of distress. I’ve found ACT to be especially effective with clients struggling with anxiety, trauma responses, and self-criticism. It pairs well with somatic and trauma-focused work, helping clients create space between themselves and the stories their minds tell.

Somatic

Somatic work is central to my trauma-informed approach. I guide clients in tuning into their bodily sensations, helping them develop awareness of how trauma, stress, and emotions are held in the nervous system. This includes grounding techniques, breathwork, movement, and gentle tracking of somatic experiences. I often incorporate somatic exercises within EMDR or other talk-based therapies to support regulation and deepen processing. Helping clients connect to their bodies with curiosity and compassion has been profoundly healing in my work with those who’ve experienced trauma or chronic dysregulation.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I incorporate DBT into my work to help clients develop skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. I’ve found DBT especially helpful for clients who experience intense emotions, chronic shame, or have difficulty navigating relationships. I integrate DBT in a flexible, client-centered way—often using real-life examples and experiential exercises to support skill application. I also weave in validation strategies and a trauma-informed lens, ensuring clients feel both supported and empowered as they build new coping tools.
