Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Kentucky. I have worked in the social service/mental health field for over 14 years to include CPS investigations, psychiatric residential, Michelle P Waiver case management, and Substance Abuse Program (SAP). I received my Master of Social Work from the Carver School of Social Work at Campbellsville University in 2015 and have been practicing for 8 years. I strive to provide therapeutic care where each individual feels safe and secure in each session buy creating a judgment-free atmosphere. My goal is to build mutual trust with each other and help you find your path to taking control back of your life and emotions.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your initial session, we will begin to build rapport and trust as I learn about your journey and together we will identify therapeutic goals. We will take each session at the pace you feel comfortable without unnecessary pressure from me.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I strive to create a safe and secure space for you to share your thoughts and emotions without fear of shame or judgment. I am dedicated to provide a supportive environment using a client-centered approach. This is a time for you to be the sole focus and find the support you need to improve your mental health. I have experience working a variety of struggles and understand how our mental health can make us feel stuck and hinder us from living our best life. My desire is to help you manage your emotions so you can find your path to a healthier, peaceful life.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I like to begin our journey together by getting acquainted with you so that I know your story, dreams, and desires of attending therapy. I will meet you where you are in your journey and do not strive to rush through the process. My goal is to see you progress and thrive in a peaceful life that you enjoy.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT emphasizes the idea that our thoughts can influence our emotions and behaviors. When those thoughts are distorted or unhelpful, it can create a cycle that's hard to break. By identifying and challenging those negative or irrational thoughts, CBT helps individuals develop healthier thinking patterns, which can lead to improved emotional well-being and more positive behaviors.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

SFBT is a goal-oriented, future-focused therapeutic approach that emphasizes finding solutions to current problems rather than dwelling on past issues. Unlike traditional therapies that may explore the origins of problems, SFBT focuses on what's working well in a person's life and how to build on those strengths to address challenges.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT was initially created to support individuals experiencing intense emotions, self-destructive behaviors, and relationship challenges, but is also used for other conditions such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and substance use disorders. Our work will focus on practical tools to manage your emotions and behaviors to include mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, etc.

Humanistic

Humanistic interventions are therapeutic approaches rooted in humanistic psychology, which emphasizes the inherent potential, self-awareness, and personal growth of individuals. Together we will focus on fostering self-discovery, authenticity, and meaningful relationships while viewing your individuality as whole, unique, and capable of change.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

MBT refers to a range of therapeutic approaches that integrate mindfulness practices to help individuals manage emotional and psychological challenges. Mindfulness involves cultivating a nonjudgmental awareness of the present moment, allowing individuals to observe their thoughts, emotions, and sensations without reacting to them. By utilizing MBT we can help you to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, improve emotional regulation and self-awareness, and enhance resilience and overall mental well-being.
