Are you the "fixer" or the "peacekeeper" who's secretly drowning in anxiety, trauma, or emotional numbing? On the outside, you have it all together and you are the one everyone leans on. But inside, you're exhausted from chronic worry, disrupted sleep, or turning to a glass of wine or a gummy to finally "turn off" your brain. That relentless inner critic whispers you're never good enough, your "fawn" response makes saying "no" feel impossible, and guilt piles up from burdens that aren't yours. These aren't just symptoms. They're the hidden costs of over-functioning for others while neglecting yourself, often rooted in childhood trauma or complex PTSD (C-PTSD). If you're a high-functioning adult in North Dakota, Minnesota, Ohio, or Utah ready for virtual therapy that gets to the roots, it's time to redirect that compassion toward your own healing.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
We'll prioritize building a safe, authentic connection. We'll discuss your specific challenges, like generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), complex PTSD from childhood trauma, people-pleasing patterns, or substance use for coping. Together, we'll outline a clear, collaborative path forward using evidence-based approaches. I don't believe in "cookie cutter" treatments, where everyone benefits from the same treatment. I view every brain as different, and tailor treatment to your needs. I also don't believe in just "managing" symptoms. We'll dig into the "why" behind them for sustainable change, all via secure online sessions tailored to your schedule.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
A Candid Space to Set the Burdens Down. In our virtual therapy sessions, you don't have to "perform" or be the "perfect client." My style is straightforward and collaborative by offering a clear perspective on cycles of self-criticism, people-pleasing, and emotional numbing that have worn you down. We skip generic affirmations like "just love yourself" (if it were that easy, you'd have done it already). Instead, we use proven tools like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to address childhood roots of anxiety, trauma, and addiction. This transforms insights into real relief, unhooking heavy survival responses so you can stop carrying weight that was never yours.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I specialize in high-functioning adults (ages 18-64) across North Dakota, Minnesota, Ohio, and Utah who are tired of "fixing" everyone else and ready for deeper telehealth work. My person-centered approach integrates evidence-based methods to uncover emotional roots, with expertise in: - Complex PTSD (C-PTSD) & Childhood Trauma - Chronic Fawning & People-Pleasing and Setting Boundaries -Perfectionism and Imposter Syndrome - Generalized Anxiety (GAD) - Addiction Recovery & Substance Use Coping
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In this method, I work with you to uncover and challenge the core beliefs shaped by past experiences. We focus on identifying and reframing negative self-talk and unhelpful thought patterns to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, worry, and foster healthier self-talk.
Motivational Interviewing
This collaborative method is highly effective for individuals dealing with substance use disorders (SUD) or feeling ambivalence about sobriety and goals. We work to explore and resolve this ambivalence, helping you access and solidify your own inherent motivation for change.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
CPT is a evidence-based trauma-focused therapy. We systematically examine the entrenched beliefs and messages you’ve carried from your past experiences and trauma. Together, we work on shifting the ones that are heavy or unhelpful, so you can feel lighter, experience fewer triggers, and gain a greater sense of control. The benefit is that this healing work can be done without lengthy discussions of graphic trauma details.
EMDR
EMDR is a specialized therapy that uses bilateral stimulation (like eye movements) to help your brain naturally process distressing memories and release emotions locked in the body. This significantly eases symptoms like intense anxiety, debilitating flashbacks, and emotional triggers, allowing for powerful, deep healing. The premise is that your body has the innate ability to heal from trauma.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use this positive and practical method to quickly tap into your existing strengths and resources. We focus on defining your preferred future and identifying what is currently working well in your life, accelerating your progress and focusing on achievable goals.

I am comfortable talking to her. I am starting to hear feedback and confirmation just for me that I’m okay and that my feelings I have are normal but don’t define me.
