Hi! I'm Johnnie Terrell, a licensed clinical social worker. I hold licenses in both Florida and South Carolina. I received my master’s from Barry University in Florida and have been practicing for 10 years. I help individuals and couples ranging ages starting at 17 plus struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief, and other adjustment issues in the hope that they may have the best opportunity to navigate through life as the best versions of themselves.
We will talk about the specific problem that inspired you to seek therapy, what you hope to achieve over the course of treatment, a brief sketch of your life story, and any experience you've had with therapy in the past.
Having worked with individuals and couples for the past 10 years, I've developed a tried-and-true the skills necessary for helping clients identify the root cause of their challenges and create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.
I love working with individuals and couples. I love being a psychotherapist. First, I find it to be a singular honor and privilege to play a part in the stories of my clients. Also, I cannot think of a more rewarding career, one that is designed solely to decrease suffering and improve quality of life by handing them tools needed to make their goal of equilibrium in their lives a reality.
I use CBT to help clients deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts. I attempt to show them how changing these negative patterns can improve the way they feel. This treatment, CBT allows for dealing with the client's current problems, rather than focusing on issues from your past.
In the couples counselling I assist clients in resolve arguing, rows, and other unhealthy relationship dynamics. This counselling can also help with a loss of sexual contact or intimacy within a relationship. Couples counselling can help couples work through acute crises or unexpected conflicts
