As a former collegiate athlete that was the first to attend and graduate college from his working-class family - I speak from experience when helping teens and young adults cope with the pressures that they regularly face in this day and age. My areas of expertise include adjustment issues, substance use, trauma, depression, anxiety, anger management, and healthy lifestyle practices.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

First sessions are predominantly used to attain basic relevant background information, ask what it is you would like to accomplish treatment, collaboration between the therapist and the patient as to what they think focus of future sessions should be, and answering any questions or concerns you might have. Since therapy is a service, it is you as the patient who ultimately decides what direction you would like your treatment to take. I give people insight into my individualized approach that I offer, and we mutually agree upon a treatment approach forward together if you see our therapeutic relationship as a good fit for what you are looking for.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I listen to and radically accept my patients where they currently are without judgement. I am present with them in the moment, and not simply just sitting across from you while you speak. I pull from my own life experiences that have brought me to this very moment, and this helping career that I find myself in today, to help me understand and connect to my patients’ experiences on real level. My patients feel that their presence is acknowledged and that their struggles are heard in our sessions. They think and feel that I am truly in this with them - because I am.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have worked with all genders and age groups coping with a range of unique challenges - all are welcome! I connect well with adolescent and young adult clients trying to find their path while also learning to cope with all the different challenges this world has to offer. I treat adult populations coping with substance use, depression, trauma, anger issues, anxiety, and much more. I am best positioned to serve any individual who is ready to take the next step in achieving the life they want for themselves.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I am formally trained and certified in the provision of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I find it to be an excellent complementary therapy approach for those seeking more of an emotional-regulation element incorporated into treatment. I also find it’s mindfulness practice, values identification, and committed action extremely useful for those looking for meaning in life!

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I am a formally trained and certified CBT provider. CBT is a gold standard treatment modality for a great slew of symptoms that I work to help treat patients with; including depression, anxiety, anger, and substance use. I help patients address their perceptions and behaviors that may be interfering with their quality of life in order for them to achieve better results.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

Cognitive Processing Therapy is a research-proven approach to the treatment of PTSD. There is a formal curriculum with weekly structured sessions. I offer this treatment to individuals in need in a way that we can explore your trauma in a safe manner in order to give the person long lasting peace and reduction from their suffering.
