I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who helps people understand themselves in a way that actually creates change. Many of my clients come in feeling stuck, frustrated, or hard on themselves—especially around perfectionism, body image, self-worth, and the lasting impact of childhood experiences. What sets my work apart is my ability to quickly identify patterns and connect the dots between your past, your internal world, and how you relate to yourself now. I take a direct, compassionate, and insight-driven approach. I will challenge you, reflect what you may not yet see, and help you make sense of thoughts and behaviors that feel confusing or out of your control—without reducing you to those patterns. I also work from a systems perspective, meaning I look at both your personal experiences and the larger influences that shape them—family dynamics, cultural messaging, and societal pressures. This is especially important in my work around body image, relationship with food, and self-worth, where neutrality and sustainability matter more than quick fixes. My goal is not just to help you feel better—it’s to help you understand yourself well enough that real, lasting change becomes possible.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is focused on understanding you—what’s bringing you in, what feels stuck, and what hasn’t worked so far. I’ll ask thoughtful, targeted questions to begin identifying patterns early on. You don’t need to have everything figured out, and there’s no expectation to share more than you’re ready for. At the same time, I won’t keep things surface-level—many clients leave the first session already seeing their experiences with more clarity and context. You can expect a balance of warmth and direction. I’ll meet you where you are, while also helping you start connecting the dots between your past experiences, current patterns, and how you relate to yourself. From the beginning, the focus is on shifting out of self-judgment and into understanding—because when your patterns make sense, real change becomes much more accessible.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength is helping clients make sense of themselves in a way that actually sticks. I don’t just listen—I identify patterns, connect dots, and reflect things back in a way that shifts how you see your thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. Many clients come in feeling stuck or frustrated with themselves, and quickly begin to understand that their patterns aren’t random or “flaws,” but meaningful responses shaped by their experiences. I take a direct, compassionate, and insight-driven approach. I’m not afraid to challenge you, but I do it in a way that feels grounding, not shaming. I balance emotional depth with practical change—helping you not only understand yourself, but also build new ways of responding. Another strength of my work is my systems perspective. I look at both your internal world and the external factors that impact you—family dynamics, cultural messaging, body norms, and societal pressures—especially around perfectionism, self-worth, and body image. This allows for deeper, more holistic healing rather than surface-level fixes. Clients often tell me that our work helps them: Shift from self-criticism to self-understanding Recognize and break long-standing patterns Feel more regulated, grounded, and clear in their daily lives Build a more neutral and sustainable relationship with themselves My ultimate goal is to help you understand yourself so well that you can rely on yourself—long after therapy ends.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with clients who are insightful, self-aware, and ready to understand themselves on a deeper level—but feel stuck in patterns they can’t seem to break. Many of my clients struggle with perfectionism, self-criticism, body image concerns, and the lasting impact of childhood experiences (including “mother wounds”). On the surface, they may appear high-functioning, but internally there’s often a cycle of pressure, self-doubt, and never quite feeling like they’re enough. I’m especially well-positioned to support: Individuals working to improve their relationship with their body, food, and self-worth (HAES-aligned, body neutrality focused) Clients navigating shame, self-hatred, and overcompensation patterns LGBTQ+ and trans clients, women, and those impacted by societal and cultural expectations People going through identity shifts, life transitions, or relationship challenges The clients who get the most out of working with me are curious about themselves—even when it’s uncomfortable. They’re open to being challenged, willing to look at patterns honestly, and ready to move beyond surface-level coping into real understanding and change. If you’re tired of quick fixes and want to actually understand why you feel and function the way you do, this work is likely a strong fit.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My work is grounded in a person-centered approach, meaning I prioritize creating a space that feels safe, nonjudgmental, and collaborative. I believe that clients already hold the capacity for growth, and my role is to help bring clarity, insight, and understanding to what may feel unclear or overwhelming.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I incorporate DBT skills—such as emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness—to support clients in managing intense emotions and responding more effectively in difficult moments. These skills are used in a flexible, individualized way to complement deeper therapeutic work.

Feminist

A core strength of my work is viewing clients within the larger systems that impact them. I integrate feminist theory and a systems perspective to explore how societal, cultural, and relational factors shape self-worth, body image, and behavior. This helps clients move away from self-blame and toward a more contextualized, empowering understanding of themselves.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. Rather than applying it in a rigid or surface-level way, I integrate it with deeper insight work—so clients not only challenge thoughts, but also understand where those thoughts come from and why they’ve been so persistent.

Couples Counseling

In working with couples, I focus on identifying relational patterns, improving communication, and helping each partner better understand both themselves and each other. I bring a balanced, direct approach that supports accountability while also fostering empathy and connection.
