I believe therapy should feel safe, collaborative, and empowering. My approach is person-centered, which means I meet you where you are—emotionally, mentally, and culturally. I integrate evidence-based techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, always tailored to your unique story. You are the expert on your life; my role is to walk with you, offer support, and equip you with tools to navigate challenges and build resilience. My journey into counseling was shaped by my experience as a homeschool mom in an underserved community, where I witnessed firsthand how mental health disparities impact families. I saw the strength and resilience of individuals navigating complex challenges without adequate support, and it inspired me to become part of the solution. With that foundation, I pursued specialized training in perinatal mental health and a career that allows me to center both compassion and justice in care.
I’m warm, honest, and direct—with a grounding presence that helps clients feel safe and heard. I balance empathy with clarity, always creating space for your truth while gently challenging patterns that may be holding you back. You can expect a calm, affirming, and down-to-earth environment where we focus on what matters most to you. I counsel my clients in a way that challenge's you to self-reflect on thought's and behavior patterns that have been ineffective in dealing with life's challenges. Our first session is all about creating connection and understanding your story. We’ll explore what brought you to therapy, your goals, and any concerns you have. I’ll ask questions to get to know you holistically—emotionally, culturally, and personally—and we’ll discuss what you’d like to get out of therapy. It’s a no-pressure space to be yourself, ask questions, and decide if we’re a good fit. From there, we’ll begin shaping a plan that supports your needs and growth.
I am sensitive to the unique needs of my clients and foster an atmosphere genuine empathy and safety because I am entrusted with vulnerable details of your life. It is essential that I build a relationship with my client and tailor therapeutic interventions to what would be most effective for their continued growth.
I believe a strong relationship between the counselor and the client fosters an environment for positive change. A person’s faith is a foundational piece that aides in the healing of physical, mental and emotional issues or trauma. As we begin to delicately restructure each piece of your life, clients can begin their journey of self-exploration and work toward their desired change. Whether you’re building emotional regulation, exploring your identity, or seeking practical coping tools, we’ll track progress together in ways that feel achievable and empowering. I provide structure when needed but also allow flexibility so our work stays responsive to your evolving needs. I have specialized training in perinatal mental health that focuses on women and even fathers struggling with postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD, and PTSD. My mission is to educate, strengthen, and empower moms so that they may flourish and grow with the confidence that they can approach daily challenges of parenting without self-doubt.
CBT is based on the idea that thoughts, feelings, physical sensations, and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts can lead to negative cycles. I have years of experience in working in the mental health field to help clients identify patterns that have created obstacles in achieving life's goals. I help clients in delicately putting the pieces together to reach their desired outcome.
Solution focused therapy is based on the idea that patients are experts in their own lives and have the strengths and resources to find their own solutions. Often times, it easy easy to focus heavily on the problem but, SFBT helps clients envision their desired future and work with them to develop practical solutions to implement.
