About me

My life experiences drew me to become a therapist and gave me a strong desire to help others on their paths. I have worked in a variety of settings, from schools, jails, and hospitals to private practice. I have specialized training in TF-CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, autism, and women's issues, including perinatal, postpartum, and perimenopausal/menopausal issues. I look forward to helping you on this journey together!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we'll focus on getting to know each other and building a comfortable rapport. We'll spend time talking about your goals for therapy and gathering information about your background and experiences. This initial conversation is all about understanding your unique needs and creating a foundation for our work together. By the end of the session, you'll have a clear sense of what to expect from our future sessions and how we can collaborate to achieve your therapeutic goals.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. We achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and working on a plan together. I enjoy getting to know each individual and learning about the different paths they have taken through life. I have developed an approach that integrates different perspectives and theories. While working with individuals and families, I focus mainly on strengths and solutions using a cognitive behavioral perspective. I also concentrate on adding a holistic approach to healing.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with women who are affected by past experiences, trauma, perinatal mental health issues, perimenopause/menopausal issues, life transitions, anxiety, or just need a break from everyday life stressors.

My treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR is a fantastic mode of therapy to be able to use across the board for depression, anxiety, trauma related issues. I am trained in EMDR via EMDRIA. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapeutic approach designed to help individuals process and recover from distressing life experiences, including anxiety, depression, and trauma. During EMDR sessions, clients are guided to recall distressing memories while simultaneously focusing on an external stimulus, such as eye movements or tapping. This process helps the brain reprocess these memories, reducing their emotional impact and allowing clients to heal. It's a highly effective method for many people and can bring significant relief and lasting change. Feel free to ask if you have any questions or concerns!

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past 15 years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.
